I hate the thought of trading Aaron Donald but he is a few years from retirement and he wants another ring. Tackle, Edge Rusher and Receiver are the most important positions in the modern NFL besides QB and they lost all pro level players at all 3. I think another aspect that you forgot to mention is the scheming this year is just atrocious. I've never been fond of Morris' zone "bend not break" philosophy, but this year pretty much solidifies that it doesn't work if you don't have an offense to bail you out with points.

Whitworth was on his way out and was considering retirement for the past few seasons, von was on a one and done deal to begin with, and the injury to Odell changed the dynamic but the rams chose to invest in Arob/kupp and a few other players rather than him. the rams don’t have any picks to set themselves up for the future, and are only going to face cap hell fro the next 5 years

Aaron Donald and Matthew Stafford aren't getting any younger, while Cooper Kupp and Jalen Ramsey both turn 30 pretty soon. Their running game is nonexistent, and the Offensive Line hasn't been the same since Andrew Whitworth retired. Combine the lack of first round draft pick with a horrid Cap Situation, and the Rams are gonna have to start cutting corners just to stay afloat. This may not JUST be any Super Bowl Hangover; This may be a repeat of The Greatest Show On Turf, where they become a perennial cellar dwellar following the Super Bowl win. Idk why but it feels like the 49ers learned nothing from the Rams. Carolina really fleeced them of all those picks for Christian Mcaffrey. Sure, they're poised for a decent playoff run now, but the Seahawks are better setup long term with all those picks they got from Denver. MAYBE Arizona can do something, but they're situation can only get worse. Won't be able to afford Deandre Hopkins caliber players too much longer with that contract Kyler Murray got.

I think another problem, too, is that the Rams inspired other teams to go "All in" by handing out huge contracts to player and giving up lots of draft picks for players. (Bills and Von Miller, Raiders and Devontae Adams, Miami and Tyrek, Russel and Denver, etc). The Rams tried giving up more picks before the trade deadline but other teams were more willing to sacrifice their picks this year. All the players they wanted were getting scooped up by other teams. I think 90 percent of the reason they're here, though, is injury. No offense can be effective when there is a new combination of players every week. No amount of offseason work can cure you when your down to your third string left tackle. I believe they would have had a winning record if the O-line had time to gel and work together more. I think next year will be better because their cap is not as bad as it has been since McVay took over and their expected to have ten picks next year when you factor in the compensatory formula. If Stafford and Donald don't retire next year, I think this team will be a Superbowl favorite again.

Cleveland gave up 3 first-round picks for Deshaun Watson, and even though that might fix their endless carousel at QB starting next year (due to his suspension), it could also lead to no rings. Denver gave up 2 first-round picks for Russell Wilson, but they’re horrible this year mainly because of injuries and extremely terrible coaching, especially on offense. Once the Broncos get a good coach that will cater to Wilson’s strengths, things could be looking bright… or at least brighter than what the team is right now. The Raiders and Dolphins giving up their first-round picks for Adams and Hill respectively have paid off so far, especially for Miami. Davante has a few weeks where he's nonexistent in his team’s offense, but Tyreek is consistently producing at an insane level with Tua Tagovailoa as his QB.

My Broncos won the Super Bowl in 2015 and haven’t made it back to the playoffs since, and it looks like that trend is going to continue now that we’re 3-7, injured to hell and back, and have both the worst coach AND the worst offense in the NFL. The worst part? If the Jets make the playoffs this season, then Denver will have the longest playoff drought in the NFL.

As a rams fan yes our offensive line hasn’t been great, but some of the blame is on stafford. He has looked terrible, missing guys wide open and has been very predictable

I don't even think it's so much of a hangover, its the fact that they've had like 11 different oline arrangements, a shit ton on injuries, poor running game, stafford missing games because of a concussion because he has no oline, a poor gameplay brought from mcvay, and stafford making rushed decisions.
