I have to confess I thought she was a goddess back in the 70s. I had a photo of her I clipped out of a magazine, and it fell out of my notebook in class. Some girl picked it up and said "That's Susan Anton!" and handed it back to me. I was mortified. This memory comes back to me now, all this time later. She was truly good-looking.

Cliffhanger! fan here. I loved all three stories. NBC canceled the show on episode 11, never airing the the series finales of Stop Susan Williams and The Secret Empire. Boy, was I one pissed off 13 year old. How could they possibly not air the series finales. Jump forward to 2019. I rediscovered the series and because the complete series was ran intact in other countries, I was finally able to see how Stop Susan William and The Secret Empire ended, thanks to uploads here on YT. It took me 40 years to see the entire series. After watching that last episode, I felt that my life was complete and I can now die happy. (I don't ask for much.) Back to Susan. She was on all the talk shows. She sang beautifully, as I remember. I have often wondered what happened to her and now I know!!

I remember Golden Girl on cable when I was young. My friend and I tried to watch it but we had no idea what was going on! We were just mesmerized by Susan Anton's beautiful smile and luscious hair! The Sanyo commercials became popular not long after. I remember imitating her, outstretching my arms and singing, "SAAAANYO!" at the top of my lungs. Once I accidentally hit my little brother in the face and my Mom got mad. Lol

I will always remember Susan for singing the haunting theme song "Only Time Will Tell" for a peculiar animated movie called "Wizards." The lyrics are simple enough: "Time renews tomorrow, When we've used today, It will find the sorrow, And wash it all away. Love can play a new tune, On this carousel, It may be tomorrow, But only time will tell. Somewhere in the darkness, There must be a light, Leading us together, Through the misty night, And maybe in the new dawn, We can break the spell, It may be tomorrow, But only time will tell. There can be a new dream, One for us to hold, Made with peace and hope, And built upon the old. No one has the answer, To give away or sell, Tomorrow holds the secret, But only time will tell." Thanks, Dave.

One time I had just seen something she was in with I believe with Jacklyn Smith and Anne Margaret talk about beauties. The three of them were being accused of murdering the same guy. Well it turned out I believe to be Jacklyn Smith and I said I knew it couldn’t be you. She replied actually she wanted it to be her because it is much more fun to play evil roles. I just smiled at the way she said it I bet she would have done a killer job. Beautiful inside and out, thank you for the memory sweet lady. Deb

I really enjoyed Cliffhanger. It was so cool. NBC should bring Cliffhanger back(or the USA Network or SyFy could do it). I remember Golden Girl on television. I didn’t know it was a major motion picture. It came around when Wonder Woman with Lynda Carter was on. As to her dating Dudley Moore, I thought there wasn’t anything wrong with the height issue. I remember Cliffhangers chiefly because of the Underground Empire segment . I read in articles at that time that the only reason Cliffhangers existed was to boost Susan's career , that's why it quickly got cancelled because most people only watched the non-Susan segments . You are correct. She had a coffee shop or a juice bar or something like that on the beach. Season 3 Nicole Eggert was the hottest Baywatch Babe. She got a boob job for Season 4 and still looked hot but in Season 3 she was perfect. She was classic 90's hot. Last year I was staying at a place with Roku TV and that has a 24 hour Baywatch channel and I'd keep it on in the background. I always watched Season 3 for Nicole and Season 8 for Kelly Packard.

If I remember correctly, it was Susan's publicist who may or may not have accidentally listed her height as 5'13". I have to admit thatas my height continued to literally inch up past the average height for a woman, my mother would tell everyone who remarked on my stature "Oh, she's five feet and thirteen inches!" My teenage years were made worse by a publicist and I frew to despise Susan. Now that I'm in my 50's and more relaxed with what can't be changed, I realize that Susan probably felt as I did, but she had the ability to work it to her advantage and laugh it off. I've come to peace with it all.

@Dave Sundstrom You wouldn't happen to know if the NBC television series ''Cliffhangers!'' February 27 to May 1, 1979? Is available on DVD? Even though it was short lived, it was still unique. It was pretty cool the way it payed homage to the old matinee movie serials from the 1920s, 30s and 40s. By attempting to revive the genre in television format. During the period of matinee serials...There was no serials based around Bram Stoker's character ''Dracula'', at least not to my knowledge. However, (Stop Susan Williams) was inspired by the classic 1914 film serial ''The Perils of Pauline''. And (The Secret Empire) was inspired by the 1935 Gene Autry movie serial ''The Phantom Empire''. Oh, that 1980s [Pizza Hut TV commercial] with ''Susan Anton'' looked like it was done in poor taste to me.

I know this is a little before your time but here is a suggestion for you: Joan Davis, who starred in the '50s sitcom I Married Joan, though she never achieved the successes of Lucille Ball, Eve Arden, and Gracie Allen (to name a few). Those who worked with Davis on her show said she was a nightmare to work with. She once slapped a young boy who asked her for an autograph and managed to pick on Bernard Gorcey (Louie Dumbrowski for you Bowery Boys fans), who played Joe the court bailiff.
