It's beautiful mate! I'm always glad to see Marcel Dadi's music being discovered by non-french musicians! If I can give you a song suggestion, you could check out "Big Chief" by Marcel. It's in a ragtime style, but I believe it to be a tad more complex ;) Beautiful channel, by the way!

Is it bad that this is the first Marcel Dadi song I've ever heard? I've never even heard of the musician. Beautiful tune. I want to listen on repeat.

I have to admit I'm not 100% up to date on his repertoire either, but picking this one for a lesson was an easy choice!

That looks like one that could be suited for more "beginner" fingerpickers too. I'll add it to the (always growing) list. 😉

(dear gitarists, watch the rhythm of the thumb, that's not easy).

Bedankt!

Where can you buy that red smartphone holder he uses in the video?
@starkrieger219 ай бұрын
Awesome seeing you playing that lovely tune. Learning it would have prob. come a little easier having had your tutorial. I find that especially these little "bum chucks" (ghost notes?) make you really feel the groove, but are quite hard to incorporate into the playing
@guitarista6669 ай бұрын
They shouldn't be. They are fitted in just the same way you would incorporate a melody note in a song. Instead of, say, playing a melody note, just throw in a "bum chuck" which is an easy thing to do.
@TimVanRoy8 ай бұрын
What I learned when picking this song apart is that it is by far the easiest to play the entire thing with only your index finger and thumb. If you stick to that method the "ghost note strums" fit into the picking pattern in a very natural way. As soon as you start adding more fingers in the picking hand it becomes harder to pull off!

I went to a guitar store in the 90´s and asked the salesguy which Marcel Dadi’s CD I should buy. He answered : « I can’t choose between my kids ❤ » it was Marcel in his store 😅

It was about time we did one of Marcel's songs! The building project is still alive, but Peter and I have to align our schedules to make a few tough choices 😉

Made by the people of the "Cracking The Code" channel (they focus on picking technique). The only problem is that it takes away the ability to edit mistakes, so I now have to play every single one of these covers in a single take 😅

excellent. how hard is this piece?
@TimVanRoy8 ай бұрын
It is easier for the picking hand than for the fretting hand, as you need quite a few tricky chord shapes to pull this one off. But mostly it's a very unique piece to play, I have never played anything else that uses the same picking technique.
