They could never make such a sweet and sincere film like this again. Our loss.

16:52 Wow her looking at him with that cooing shiny happy love struck face. Every mans dream. But it only happens in very old movies.The adorable look they gave a man seems to be lost in time,you dont even see it in movies today.

That’s sweet to say “every man’s dream”. I wish those old days had never gone away even though I wasn’t born then

What a gem! What a pairing. As a kid her voice and face always brought a smile to my face. As an adult I appreciated her in the movie Shane.

I know it's Hollywood but a cross country trip by train would have been faster and a lot more comfortable even back then. Jean Arthur was a beautiful and great actress.

The opening sequence explains the unusual story. Yes, a John Wayne screwball comedy, anchored by one of the genre's queens, Jean Arthur. Wayne more than holds his own under the circumstances, but gets back to Westerns and soon, war films. An independent production, released by RKO during World War II.

Cute movie, I wonder if this is where the producers of the film "The Electric Horseman" (1979) starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford, got the basic premise for their film?
@DonaldPBorchersOGКүн бұрын
So I've heard, the basic premise for the "The Electric Horseman" (1979) was inspired by Paddy Chayefsky's "Network". The story in "The Electric Horseman" is about a man who has strayed from his true nature and is trying to find himself again. The horse in the film is a metaphor for the man, as it is drugged, exploited, and broken. The man attempts to find himself by helping the horse find itself again. The film was written by Shelly Burton, Robert Garland, and Paul Gaer, and directed by Sydney Pollack.

Can anyone explain what the dessert was that locked his mouth and shut?
@ladywisewolf3942Күн бұрын
@@DonaldPBorchersOG Well, that may be the deeper theme, and it certainly is apparent but on the surface and what most movie goers found fun about the "Horseman" film was the "fish out of water" romance between the sofisticated New York journalist and the rough cowboy ( rodeo star) exposing her to the "wild west". The campfire scene with Arthur was very similar to the scene with Fonda, being frightened by the coyote howls. Other similarities are the sick horse and the gruff sidekick. Who's to say Paddy didn't see this film and got ideas?
@kathylynch973220 сағат бұрын
@marshahinson2360 I don't know what the dessert was. I assume it was too frozen and that was supposed to have locked his jaw.

Wayne looked healthy enough to be in the service.
@cejannuzi2 күн бұрын
Wayne was exempted from service due to his age (34 at the time of Pearl Harbor) and family status (classified as 3-A - family deferment). Wayne did not attempt to prevent his reclassification as 1-A (draft eligible), but Republic Studios was emphatically resistant to losing him, since he was their only A-list actor under contract.
