Peter, I agree with you. This is the one & only martial artist film actor I admire and I'm amazed to see his ability to connect with people with such humility allowing them to take pics no matter how disturbing his walking path is. @@JaysonT1 Before the coke Van Damme was in much better shape then Sly has ever been. In Bloodsport and Kickboxer his physique was at it's best. Sly in Rambo 2&3 and Rocky 3&4 was more ripped but he naturally isn't blessed with the stronger genetics and growth of Van Damme's physique. But the fact that Sly has maintained it for so long is admirable, whereas Van Damme did lose his during his addiction phase. Both are legends.

People can say what they want about Van Damme not being a great actor but at least he's one of the very few who really appreciates his fans. I for one am honored to have met such an honorable and humble person. I met Van Damme at Planet Hollywood in Atlanta back in 1995 promoting Sudden Death and he was such a nice guy and he signed two autographs for me I got one and my grandmother got the other from him. In fact I distinctively remember her grabbing him by the arm and asking could you please sign an autograph for my grandson to which his reply was yes ma'am, so polite. Then on the way home I remember my grandmother saying to me "he's got some big mussels doesn't he to which I replied well he's not called the Mussels from Brussels for no reason.Thank you Mr. Van Damme for giving me and my grandmother such a wonderful memory together and being so kind and generous for giving her a T-Shirt and me a Hat from Planet Hollywood, God bless you sir and your family.
