His comedy is usually him making fun of himself and his own career. He has surprisingly good sense of self irony. Not sure if that's the correct term but he can make fun of himself pretty much.

Wow this is rare van damme. I feel this is right in between his Arsenio appearances where he looked fantastic and was on top of the world, and then later when he resurfaced from nearly losing everything bacause of addiction. You could already see here the signs of early drug abuse and depression creeping in. He was definitely slightly off.
