What a lovely liberty act. I worked under Gunther Gable-Williams in the late 1990's for a short time. I learned a lot, but always wished we would have been able to put together acts more like this. Bravo

You should check out Nadine Lindblom, she does LIBERTY TRAINING. She is teaching a MASTERCLASS RIGHT NOW FOR FREE!!! She is AMÀZING WITH HER HORSES. The key to liberty training is doing it in a fun nurturing mutually respectful way to where these beautiful animals can't wait until their next training session to show YOU how much they LOVE WHAT YOU ARE TEACHING THEM. I wish YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL HORSES THE BEST LUCK IN THE WORLD!!! Follow her MASTERCLASS and both you and your horses will learn ALOT each other's likes and dislikes. I just hope it is as wonderful as experience as mine was with my horse. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025!!!🙏🩷🙏🇺🇸

Liberty training a horse is not necessarily difficult but it requires a HUGE amount of dedication and time ... horses naturally want companionship and play ... it's as natural as a child wanting to jump in puddles or swing on ropes, you are simply playing to a horses natural desire to belong to and follow a herd (the herd being you), to cavort and play, even dance with you and that takes time.... it's not a once a week training exercise -- it's an every day several times a day meeting of the minds and hearts of the two of you. Anyone willing to devote the time to liberty training can train their horse but you MUST be totally dedicated not just to the training but to the horse himself. You are creating a bond where the horse with no tack, no restraints, in a completely free and open environment WANTS to follow you, WANTS to be near you, wants to please, obey and PLAY with you ... but also to respect the my space / your space boundary you want imposed on the horse. The result is a deeply personal relationship with an animal that can crush you if he chooses, that can kill you a kick or a toss but instead CHOOSES to be near you and follow your lead. You create a relationship of mutual respect and a relationship that is the foundation of all other training you might choose to do with your horse ... how can you get a horse to do as you ask while riding if he doesn't even want to be with you? if he chooses to walk away from you when free instead of following you? and that demands that he trust you and for that he needs to know WITHOUT ANY DOUBTS that you also trust him.... Just like you and your dog form a pack, you and your horse form a herd of two and liberty training is the foundation upon which you build your relationship with your horse.

Ok some people need to realize something...tapping them with the CROP doesnt hurt them ok it keeps their attention and keeps the doing the act. I've ridden for 6 years and we always use the crop and never once did they shy away from them or show any pain when we tapped them.
@rachelcoleman18357 жыл бұрын
Alyssa Vandegrift I agree I've ridden since I was 2 and I'm now 11 and I use a crop but I just tap my horse we don't hit them with all of our might or force, just a little tap on the bum and then they'll work better for you instead of misbehaving
@elizabethblackwell62426 жыл бұрын
Tapping is mildly aversive which means they don't like it which means it's a useful tool in limited scenarios. One good use for tapping is to re-habituate a horse that's gone dull to leg aids. It's very easy to gently tap and wiggle a dressage whip behind the leg to encourage more alacrity in good forward response without hurting the horse in anyway.

BTW it's not a crop its not a whip its an extension of his arm that's what people use it for, just to signal the horses and its not like he's hitting the horses with all of his might or force if he did they would shy away from him or spook

This is to get closer and more connected with your horses. They trainer does not beat them or anything. And he is not hurting them with the whip looking thing. Btw it is not a whip it is a crop. He lightly taps and signals them. The horses are as happy as can be 🐴❤️❤️❤️😛😄

Animals.are.Always I agree with you 99.9% they are completely willing to do this they clearly respect their owner the only thing I disagree with is the way you said “if they didn’t like it they wouldn’t do it” some horses are abused into doing things that many people would say that “if they didn’t like it they wouldn’t do it” which is a load of bull because they are forced to do it like for example Tennessee walkers get acid on their feet to create the big lick but I can imagine that these are rewarded for their shows

People in this comment section are being incredibly annoying. He is using the whip to give gentle and refined aids to the horses, not to beat them. Depending where you are from you may call it a whip or a crop but it really doesn’t matter so please stop trying to make that an argument. This isn’t abuse if you look at the body language of the horses they are relaxed.
