I really loved the relationship between Kurt and Ororo in this film. In the comics, they’re such good friends, and it’s been toyed with a few times that they might have feelings for each other, and this movie did a great job exploring that connection. It’s such a shame that, on top of everything else, Last Stand didn’t even acknowledge that Kurt existed, this movie set up some great stuff for him & Alan Cumming was just phenomenal in the role!

Same with Kurt; sometimes he’s dating Amanda Sefton, sometimes he’s interested in Rachel Summers, other times it’s Cerise. In several comic runs over the years, Ororo & Kurt have expressed romantic interest in each other.

@@db5094 - In this version of the X-Men, which isn't necessarily canonical, Storm is more powerful at this time because Jean's mental blocks were still in place. Remember, Professor X suppressed some of her power when she was a child. The blocks didn't get relaxed until X3 but this scene is in X2. Once Jean's mental blocks are gone in X3, she becomes this version's Dark Phoenix. At that point, she is more powerful than just about anyone on the planet. She is even more powerful than Magneto and he is a level 5 (I believe).
