This is a selection of sublime pointers/teachings taken from Jean Klein's text, "I Am" - formatted for guided meditation purposes.
Jean Klein (October 19, 1912 - February 22, 1998) was a French author, spiritual teacher and philosopher of Advaita Vedanta (Nondualism). He was born in Berlin and spent his childhood in Brno and Prague. Having left Germany in 1933 for France, he secretly worked with the French Resistance in the Second World War. Klein was a musicologist and doctor, traveled to India where he was influenced by Sri Atmananda Krishna Menon, studied Kashmir Shaivism and was sent to the West to teach Advaita Vedanta. He is regarded as one most eloquent communicators of non-duality in the second half of the 20th century.

At one time, it was of use that I exert much effort. At one time, it was of use that I exert none. At other times, it was of use that I oscillate between effort and no effort, faster and faster. So that, in the end, the futility of both could be seen. For both effort and no effort, are imagination. And freedom from imagination is not found within the imagination. Yet… Imagination is found within freedom. For I am it, and imagination is within. So what then? So nothing. There is no teaching that can be taken out of imagination, into reality. What exists in reality, says nothing. So what then? Is every teaching of no effect and pointless? Well… So long as the mind will not let go of what it is taught… Yes. The teaching that guides the mind to the ledge where the same teaching is left behind, vanishing with all other thoughts, is the best teaching, and who can say what teaching that will be? And so… Ramana spoke well: “True teaching can only done in silence.” Nothing else remains to instruct . Such mysteries abound. Who could have guessed that Self Realization is just a beginning, just a milestone? Who could have guessed at that which is beyond? What is beyond the silent I Am? God is. What is beyond God? I am. What are the truest words I know? God is, I Am. ☀️💓🙏🏻
