I think this was the only time Rameau used clarinets. They were pretty new at that time.

Clefs are a bit unusual . . .

Not for that time. They wanted to avoid additional lines below or above the staff and the easiest way to do is is to go to different clefs adapted to the range of the instruments. We have largely lost the ability to read many clefs but in Rameau's time this was common.
