Nice perspective, you're a pragmatic person, which is wise. Before I saw your video here, I pulled the trigger on one of these, spec'ed at 16/1TB, space grey, excell. cond. from a local laptop seller here in Canada. Cost me only $999 CAD, shipped. Quite a bargain for a great machine. Use it primarily for watching videos at home. cheers

using this machine also, it works great for my use cases of casual use, handles heavy work decently well also. I think if you get a Mac, you are good to use it for 5 years at least. Make your investment worth while, apple products are expensive but they last well and long with minimum issues and it is really easy to use the machines, especially if you are software engineer.

It's more than what I need even to stream in 4k on OBS + the light work that I do in FCPX. Also noticed you haven't posted in a while brother. I just bought a refurbed MBP 16" 2019. Best thing is the screen, surprised that I use the touch bar. The finger print sensor is nice. Downsides are the i7 is power hungry and it runs hot when doing anything strenuous. Will keep it for a few years before buying a refurbed M? MBP.

I use a 32gb 2019 macbook pro and I bought it at a steal price. One caveat, please use Catalina on it, don't upgrade to Ventura or Sonoma. Catalina still lets me do video editing and it works blazingly fast.

The read/write to SSD is so much faster on the 2019 Mac Pro with the gen 9 chip. M1, M2, M3 blow it away in benchmarking but I have to tell you. As a Senior Web Developer I prefer the 2019 in all areas for day to day work. Better graphics, better audio and I have never minded the fan coming on. At least I knew it was cooling and not just throttling like the M series chip macs do. Back Market always has great deals on theses too. Right now you can get a really good one for around $500+

Nice review, thx) but this model has an issue if u tape model name + issue u see that eventually u got 12 v on the ssd totally crush all y data from hard drive so I'm little nervous about buying this product from amazon ( do am I still take a shoot buying this laptop)?

Would using this for O365 suite cause the throttling issues making it hot from what I’ve heard ? Or is that only when the cpu is under lots of load ?

@@mitchell_9709 If you’re only using it for a basic applications, you should be fine. I notice that it does throttle and get hot for me but that’s because I have almost everything open-FCPX, Chrome, O365. I still use it for video editing but I know to expect throttle and some heat.

Battery life is decent. I’d say about 5-7 hours for my use. I don’t believe the 10 hour hype.

I’d probably recommend the 32gb and whatever storage you think is best. But only if you can find a great deal on one. The M1 is close enough in price where it may make more sense to grab that instead.

I bought mine for $400 atp you shouldn’t have to pay anything over 600 for a maxed out system… but 1tb 16gb ram core i9 is more than powerful enough

Terrible advise ... it get Super HOT and thermal-throttling is unbearable dude... and with external high performance screen it will always hover around 70+c to the point of unusable ... the lagg and performance and heat even with laptop coolers and clean up of insides

@@unikmandakh Thanks for the comment, man. Use case scenario, it’s still my main machine for editing KZbin videos and writing. Given the price point if someone can find it at a good price, it’s still a good buy. For a small jump, the M1 is more serviceable but doesn’t make this a bad pick.

Just bought a MBP 2019 16", 64Gb with 8Tb. Now I can dual boot to Windows Server, and run Windows 10 Pro using VMWARE on Sonoma, etc etc etc, great machine at a great price. Same spec in M series £6K plus. Apple just stopped selling these in their Refurb store at Christmas so there's quite a few years of support left.
