I've been working for years, and still find this helpful, it's great to get back to basics, and practice, i will try it soon, awsome way to break it down and easy to follow along, thanks :D

Hi JD, and thank tou for the tut! Let me just understand the part around 17:00; where you are using spine and the ruth. So basically you are not using the ruth only in specific cases?
@jeandenishaas

You’re very welcome! Thanks for watching! And yeah I kinda depends on the shot. Sometimes when I use the root for rotations and then have chest rotations on top of that there can be some doubling up that’s tricky to clean up and edit. For bigger mechanics shots with characters jumping and flipping around I would do it all with the root (translates and rotates) and add extra with the chest. Hope that makes sense.

Hey JD! What's the difference between this approach (layered) and the poses (spacing) approach?
@jeandenishaas
@jeandenishaas 2 жыл бұрын
The difference is in the approach you prefer (or the approach that’s more appropriate for the shot). Some like to go layered, which gives you a step by step level of control body part by body part. Others like to go pose to pose which shows you quickly what the full pose looks like but you might end up using too many controllers? All depends what you’re comfortable with. I like starting with poses and then finesse with a layered approach.

My biggest problem is to create an acting scene where there are many unique positions. In my head I have a general idea but I don't know waht the final result quality will be and I don't know how to find rederencess. In addition, they often don't present exactly what I need. Then do I need acting by myself? Mix different references to oadjust to timing? What is the most efficient method?
@jeandenishaas
@jeandenishaas 2 жыл бұрын
I would definitely try acting things out for yourself. You can also mix reference you found with what you filmed. I try to act things out all the time even if I don’t end up using it or even if don’t film myself. It helps me with finding ideas, understanding the mechanics, etc. For me that has been efficient and maybe that will work for you too?

How do i improve my flat animations? They look life less and i am having difficulty finding what's the problem. I hope to get some guidance, thankyou.
@jeandenishaas
@jeandenishaas 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like your timing is too even. When it’s lifeless you have to look at contrast in movement and timing but also make sure the character comes across as a thinking and reacting character. Don’t rush through moments.
