every time I see JJM upload a video, whatever I'm doing will be put on hold to watch the Master teach.

Notes for revisits: Side Control Escapes 2:23 - Whenever the opponent drop their weight on you, alleviate the pressure by bridging (raising your hips off the floor) 3:00 - Understanding frames. Use your forearm, and NOT the hands (stronger frames, and prevent accidental wrist locks)

This is one time I don't think I will follow professor's advice. From bottom with my hand on his hip, I can avoid the wrist lock by straightening my hand and letting it slide off. The advantage I feel from my hand being there, rather than my elbow, is I can lift his hips much higher, which makes him easier to control or sweep. Also, when I am top, I prefer to push my hips much lower into the ground than what the professor is doing here, which adds much more pressure and makes me much harder to sweep. A senior judo black belt with insane pressure taught me to have no space between my crotch and the ground, wedging myself into his side.
