Strange, but very interesting. Demessieux' own harmonic and melodic style, like no one else's. People can like it or not, but everyone should admit, that she was a genius. It's challenging to 'pack' strange content in 'normal' classic forms like fugue! It's so hard to play... all the more congratulations for the performer!!!

Great compositional ability and so much spiritual result! Such a pity than Jeanne Demessieux died so early.... The organ is magnified by this music (this instrument sounds pretty well). Great performance as well, this music is definitely difficult to play. Thanl you musichiere70 for sharing!

Ce Prélude me fait penser au grand Petr Eben. Mêmes couleurs de registrations et /ou thèmes grégoriens. Avec Messiean, Jehan Alain, Charles Tournemire, Marcel Dupré, Jeanne Demessieux est une de nos grands compositeurs pour Orgue.

Quelle virtuosité ! Bravo pour le travail. La musique est hautement originale, composée bien avant 1968, elle va beaucoup plus loin que celle de Dupré mais est d'accès difficile pour l'auditeur.

I consider Jeanne Demessieux the greatest composer of the 20th Century unless there are others around I do not know. I think she died in 1968 at a painfully young age. But she had won every grand prize for organ composition and performance there was. the only American composer I can think of that matched her for chord and timing was Thelonius Monk.
