What a beautiful boat.I think 2 people can handle it just fine and you have a sailing platform that you travel the world.

Can someone explain to me why this guy is pensive and frowning? This is a spectacular boat, and it had to have been a pleasure to sail and review. SMILE!!

The British believe that yachting is restricted to certain people and that's why it should always be overpriced But the He's British and Jeanneau is French and a yacht like that shouldn't be in that price range and that's what made him upset ;)

Looks nice and handy even on a gale. I even like its design, clever ideas. Not sure about the mainsail. Though cheaper than most competitors of same size, in the Med, its biggest issue would still be the cost of docking space, moorings, etc. Add the usual maintenance and you're looking at € 40-45k yearly expense (ordinary only), yes you'd still have to be a millionaire to afford it.

Yeah, but Jeanneaus of this size are hardly ever privately owned, this is for the charter trade
@meeguy114010 жыл бұрын
Interesting. but the maintenance should be around US$140k/y easily. still I like it.

no matter how much you try to sell it , its too damn big for two people to sail .
@1962moe10 жыл бұрын
Are you kidding it take more then two people to run a 64 foot sail boat its not a motorboat ! On a plane there is a flight crew and the ground crew ! What I am talking about is that this is a big yacht to manage in complete terms . for example unless you don't care about have a crew and spend tons of money of maintenance two people will have their heads below water ! : bun intended . Its ease to sail her because of all the automation what about when they are off shore and get into trouble without a good crew two people will be over whelmed . remember this is not a craft that flies for a few hours and then lands again . Thanks for your comment Paul hope to hear your response
@1962moe10 жыл бұрын
yes but the standard size sailboat for a cruising couple for a boat is not 64 feet ; when you have a boat that big and things happens ??? its not safe for two people to handle a boat that big in any emergency . I think that anyone with cruising experience would understand what I am saying . In any case the least amount of crew on a long cruise is 3 people so watches can be divided so everyone can rest properly . yes you can take a 64 sailing vessel out with two people but the margin of safety is not good for that size boat on off shore cruises

1962moe Well I see they were reefing so I do agree with your statement. Also some people go around the world sometimes with bigger boat and its all about your skill and if you can sail or not.
@1962moe10 жыл бұрын
Frenchfry33 Yes skill level is a big factor but I don't think that an experienced sailor would cruise on a 64 foot sailboat off shore for an extended time unless and their spouse where very skilled also . More likely they would sail an Amel 55 or a Discovery 55 yacht that has much more to offer then the Jeanneau 64 . The Amel and the discovery are much better equipped then the Jeanneau and offer more comfort for an off shore couple ; but you get what you pay for has with anything
