Didn't know Jeannie sang this song til l watched this episode. 1st time l heard it was with Christy Lane on her double album. Beautiful song & Christy does a great job singing it!

What a wonderful request, thanks so much Eliyahs! This is a classic and I hadn't heard it in a while (your requests do that a lot for me and I love it!). This one is little more deserving to me so I'd go with 9.1. Thanks Don for the terrific reaction!

When I was a kid I looked forward for the Sears Christmas Catalog to come in the mail.

Great song. My take on it is , the woman was recalling a dolly she wanted when she was a child but she never got it. Later on in life she sees a little girl wanting a doll so she bought it for her.

First of all, thank you for this request Elias! Don this song takes me back to the times when people see something that takes them back to a childhood experience… I remember times as a child in the 60’s looking at toys or other things that I would have liked to have but knew my parents did not have the means to buy. At those times I would look and in my imagination; have whatever it was to play with or wear and be satisfied with that. Then later in life you observe a situation that takes you back to one of those moments. The poignant point is that she observed the little girl “with her head held high” or in my thoughts admiring the doll but accepting the fact that at the moment it was not to be. She never cried, she didn’t make a scene, she just enjoyed seeing the doll and imagining having it one day. Then came a random act of kindness that fulfilled the little girl, the lady who remembered wanting a doll when she was young, and all of us who hear these lyrics and can relate through our experiences…… It feels good to hear music like this as it reminds me of younger years and childhood innocence. Thanks Don and God Bless everyone here!
