Hi Jeannie! This makeup kit was from Cosmetique makeup subscription service. It was in all the magazines back then. You sent in a postcard with a penny taped to it and got this first compact. After that you got a monthly shipment and a bill for $20+. I remember because my mom was mad I sent away for it without asking her permission 😅

I actually use lipstick sometimes as a blush because it can look more natural for me than powder ! I love when you laugh at yourself being silly. I do that all the time practicing makeup, I definitely sound like a madthing🤣

I collect vintage Obsession by Calvin Klein. The original was so intoxicating with a sweetness under the spice and sandalwood. Almost all has gone "off." Even the perfume I have stored in dark in cool climate. Nevertheless, it was my favorite and signature fragrance in the 80s and early 90s. I used to sell and promote makeup and fragrance as a model, and as a makeup artist back then -- for many, many years. Other favorite fragrances were Alfred Sung, very fresh and chic; the original Cinnabar for the holidays, as it was a nice, more conservative spiced fragrance. I liked the drugstore fragrance called Pavlova. Soft and antique-smelling a vintage style scent even back then. Some I enjoyed but did not wear were Chloe, Lulu, Aromatics elixir. I still wear Coco by Chanel. I also have a bottle of vintage bottle of Coco eau de parfum (it has gone off, sadly) but I wear the perfume. YSL Champagne!!! Yes, that was a gorgeous, effervescent fragrance. I could go on with the ones I enjoyed. Please tell me what fragrances you enjoyed in the 80s.

And I would love to see more videos of you recreating your makeup looks through the decades (I’d especially love to see a ‘70s look 😍), even if you were to use modern products/tools. 🥰 P.S.: I do not think you look like a clown at all!
