I love my silk scarves, tied at the neck or on a bag. I will definitely try them as belts, too, it’s a great idea. I’ve always worn mine, trending or not, for forty years, they’re a part of my classic style, but I love it when they feel current.

I love an outfit like the first one here, but in white and taupe, a cooler-toned version of the ivory and camel, that suits my cool-toned coloring better. I do also wear ivory and the cooler (not too much yellow) beiges and even have a camel coat, but I look better in a white top than an ivory one. I always love your classic, modern, elegant style, Gemma! It’s easy to adjust your chic featured outfits for our unique coloring, frame sizes and body shapes, and with what we have in our wardrobes already. For those who love ivory/cream colors, this is your spring, they are everywhere in fashion right now. I did buy some ivory jeans; I like having both white and ivory choices. I like shirts and tops with classic patterns like stripes, dots, checks, etc. and like having bottoms to coordinate with whichever color predominates in the pattern. Plus, I have a serious weakness for silk and cashmere tops and sweaters, which, because these fibers can’t be aggressively or chlorine-bleached, often are closer to ivory than white.

I’m so glad you talked about the cap toes. Thanks for sharing how to style them in more modern way! They may not be quite my style but I have a pair of gorgeous square toe slingback Magli’s that I rescued from a thrift shop for 10 dollars-they didn’t even have a scratch on the bottoms! Too pretty to leave behind, I took them home and they’ve been sitting in a box ever since. …. I will fetch them out over the weekend! xx🌷

Gemma I just bought a lovely Camel long sleeve button up front dress shirt at Target here in Michigan in the store. It cost $25.00 USD plus sales tax. It washed and ironed up beautifully and is well designed and made..My son lives in London so I know you did have Target stores there..

I love it when your kitty visits, and gives you some affectionate leg bumps! I need a cat to give me some cat-love. I’m waiting until I can afford to build a “catio”, a safe outdoor enclosure. It just is too dangerous to let cats outdoors and my last two were experts at getting out without my knowledge. One was hit by a car, apparently, and I can’t bear the guilt and grief of that again, I feel like I don’t deserve another cat. I have no idea how she got out, everything was sealed tight after the one before her squeezed out through a window air conditioner (!), but was unhurt, thank goodness. (I never would have believed it if I hadn’t seen her coming back in through it, she was small, but not, I thought, capable of that). The one who got out and was hit must have slipped out behind me when I left the house, without my seeing her; they’re motivated, smart, fast and they plan their “escapes”.

Love the catio. Funny, where I live, the problem is keeping the cats out. I believe animals should live outdoors but of course it depends where you live. You deserve a cat: regardless of how long they live, you can give them a good life.

I always love your videos so much, Gemma, I think you are the best stylist anywhere! If I may suggest one idea, you could style any new items you acquire with extant, perhaps a bit older, items, to show us how to use them to update our outfits with what we have already. You basically do this already, it would only be a slight shift in emphasis. For the last five years or so, I have been trying to buy only timeless classics, but I want to make sure I look up to date, also, I won’t wear out-of-style skinnies or tunics, for example. That said, I’m not a big fan of most trends this spring: bright, in-your-face colors (I need muted ones for my Soft coloring); Boho/Western style; embellishments like feathers, fringe or rhinestones; or sheer or lace fabrics (they’re always made of polyester, which I loathe). What classic styles that are trending now do you love?

I've been desperate to source some white or cream jeans but I refuse to buy a pair that's thin and see through. I'm not sure why perfectly good jeans manufacturers.... who are capable of making quality jeans in every other wash keep churning out flimsy, transparent white/cream jeans. I just tried a pair at an otherwise really good quality brand - that was so transparent you could see the seam allowances through them. Even the saleslady couldn't bring herself to pretend they looked good. Meanwhile, I can't help noticing that in the *menswear* dept jeans never seem to be flimsy or transparent, even in white, so it can be done. If anyone has sourced white/cream women's jeans that are not see through please let me know :-)

@sparklie I just didn’t think about your being out of UK! I know my M&S size and found them true to size, but shipping costs can be prohibitive. The shoes Gemma was recommending aren’t available here, it’s difficult for these influencers I suppose. I spent last night trying to find a camel jumper online, unsuccessfully in my modest price range. Good luck with your search.
