I always have trouble sewing over the spot where the 4 back pieces meet- the 2 back and 2 back yokes, they all meet at a spot that gets so thick no matter how much I try to trim the seam allowances, and my needle doesn't want to go through that lump! The presser foot barely fits over it. (I am using real denim, not the thin twill you use in this demo)
@jazzysocrafty59737 жыл бұрын
lestrange you need a jeans needle.
@lestranged7 жыл бұрын
I have one and am using it. The problem is the thickness of all those layers doesn't fit under the presser foot.

this is a little late, but try pounding the seam out with a mallot

Thank you for sharing this with all of us! What machine are you using? It seems as though you didn't need to lift the footer when turning along the pocket and that it did it on its own instead.

I love all of your tutorial videos and had a question if you don't own a serger would your recommend zig-zag stitching around the yolk pieces?
@carmeliajones91767 жыл бұрын
I zig-zag around all my raw edges. I've just bought a new machine (computerized) that has overcasting capability. Can't wait to try that out.

Hi Louise, It looks and sounds like my Brother Innovis. Same needle plate and bobbin plus it has automatic thread cut and foot lift. Fantastic machine! @@kasheek2202

Hi My name is Rose and i was just wondering what kind of sewing machine do you use?
@juliesullivan50185 жыл бұрын
Hi Rose, It appears to be a Brother as it operates and sounds the same as my Brother Innovis Dreamweaver.

I don't like front pockets in my jeans. How I need to do this step then?
@kasheek22027 жыл бұрын
Jurga Jurgita I think if you don't want front pockets, instead of doing the curve that is in the pattern for the pockets keep cutting straight and disregard the inserting pockets step

For the yoke, why kind of seam is that? French/flat felled or other?
@carmeliajones91767 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't a twin needle be sufficient for double top stitching? I'm eager to try it.
@LaTonyaC8 жыл бұрын
The top stitching is going to kill me. I only have one machine. 😩😩😩😩

How do you take in jeans when their to big around the waistline
@mariibellleee8 жыл бұрын
can I use the same polyester thread for both top stich and bottom???
@mariibellleee8 жыл бұрын
just trying to change it up a little instead of the jean yellow thread? or does it have to be specifically jean thread for the top stich?
@kasheek22027 жыл бұрын
Maribel Belle it depends on how u like it I wouldn't recommend it because that top stitch has always been used for jeans especially denim jeans, using a different color would show that you made it at home which you don't really want, you want it to look professional (I hope)
