Great video. The one thing I would add to this, in a world that is so full of constant noise and chatter, is the one thing I remember to do in my daily life. I actually schedule this into my calendar for a minimum of 1 hour per day. And the calendar entry says "DO NOTHING". I think it is so important to spend a part of your day doing absolutely nothing. We live in a world where the majority of our time is spent inputting stuff into our brains. We should take some time to stop that. This is the time when I sit in a room and do nothing. Not even soothing music. Just dead silence when I try to empty my head of all thoughts. The best sentence I have found to achieve this is to say to myself "What will my next thought be?" and somehow, no thoughts enter my head. I don't know why this DO NOTHING period helps me, but it does.
@JeanVoronkova3 жыл бұрын
it absolutely helps and it's like you're taking a peek into my diary haha! I actually am midway into writing an episode thats about the importance of doing nothing. What you do sounds like meditation, where you silence the egotic self and try to connect with your inner self free from distracting thoughts. That is absolutely important, but my version of doing nothing also just includes chill downtime where i allow my mind to wander, because that's when i find that random inspirations and interesting ideas strike me or i also take a mental step back and do an overall contemplation and evaluation of what's going on, so as not to get caught up in the melee of the everyday. The world is too noisy i fully agree. Its important to shut it out of your world sometimes and recalibrate.
@mannymistry683 жыл бұрын
@@JeanVoronkova Actually, I am going to be taking lessons this year to learn how to meditate. I have tried to do it myself, but I need some instruction. My DO NOTHING time is actually more like yours. I spend that time letting my mind go where it pleases and just staying aware of what comes to my thoughts. Relaxation is a big part of it, so I sometimes (at least 3-4 times per year) take a whole weekend for DO NOTHING. Those are the times when I find a nice, inspirational place to relax, let my mind wander and for sure, look to be inspired (as I am an aspiring writer). Great things happen when I put a stop in inputting things into my mind and let my mind create things instead.

Loved this. As a former teacher and trainer I couldn't agree more. The best hockey players in the world fail the most because they take the most shots and most of those don't go in. But they take so many that they score more than anyone else so they are the most successful. It's counter-intuitive and exactly how you need to think about achieving your dream. You can't get ahead without some failure. Failure is what leads you to success - just NEVER give up and you WILL get there.

What an awesome vlog to end my night with and to allow my subconsciousness to work on, in the back drop, as I fall asleep. I’ve been watching vlogs by Oprah, Candace Pert, Gary Zukar and just finished reading the book: Leaders Eat Last by Simon Sinek and your vlog goes right along with what I’ve been working towards. Being more giving, more compassionate, and more understanding to those around us can go a long way. You might just make someone’s day! My second day in Fairbanks, Alaska I was driving down the icy road on my way home and I saw this middle aged woman up ahead standing on the side of the road stopping a car. I slowed down, than the pulled out onto the road again and continued driving onward, leaving her on the side of the road where she stood before. I continued driving and she was waving her arms wanting me to stop. I pulled my truck over and rolled my passengers side window down. This middle aged white haired, Caucasian woman came to my window and and asked, Please can you help me, my furniture just ran out of oil this morning and I have two young kids at home. I just need enough money to buy 5 gallons of oil. She goes, I don’t get paid until the third, (it was February 27th) but I’ll pay you back, I’ll give you my phone number. And I asked her how much she needed, and she said, twenty dollars, no thirty. I opened my wallet and pulled out forty dollars and told her to just pay it forward and help someone else. She said, God Bless You, my kids are not going to freeze tonight. Thank you! She was almost crying. I drove down the road and stopped at a stop light as she took a turn to the right and started walking towards an apartment building. I wondered why the guy ahead of me hadn’t believed her and not given her any cash? I thought had I been hoodwinked by a professional? I thought No! Her desperation was real and her gratitude was real. And I thought ppl need to have more compassion!

It has brain exercise suggestions that target specific neural functions like processing speed and touches on many topics like mediation and the importance of ion rich environments like the ocean for better direct oxygen flow in the brain. Looking forward to your vids and HNY to you as well!

Wonderful video. Thank you. All of the suggestions you make have value, IMO. You're right, life in these times is truly challenging and in ways humans were not "designed" to deal with. We generally live in relative abundance with most of our basic needs met. The bigger challenge now is in our minds. For example, we didn't evolve to cope with the near-constant stimulation from social media, television, email, etc. The result IMO is that many people are living in an "overloaded condition" and unable to manage their psychological/emotional condition appropriately. I am quite concerned about this and see many of the newer social issues as being related to this overloaded state many of us live in. So, things such as simplification are very valuable. Another practice I have found helpful is meditation. I am new to your channel, so perhaps you discuss this elsewhere. Meditation clears the mind of static and unnecessary "programs" that our brains tend to accumulate, and I have noticed that once the noise is reduced I can see and feel what is truly more important and then act accordingly. It's a "practice", i.e., an ongoing effort towards greater and greater clarity. But just like the other healthy habits you mention, mediation tends to increase in value over time. I suspect meditation may not be as helpful for everyone as it has been for me, but I thought i would mention it. Best wishes for a wonderful, safe 2022!

Meditation is truly necessary for mental health in our world today, and actually, i find that past a certain stage, most everything in life can be done meditatively, which helps a lot. When i focus entirely on what i'm doing n the breath. Its a good state of mind to be in. Our current world that we live in - i find it quite a scary place sometimes. We are lucky to be able to take refuge in our little quiet corner here in Bali.

everybody should watch this. people argue about things that are so petty and primitive. It just doesn't matter. When i told someone all I want out of life is to be content with who i am and to help people whenever possible, they had this moment of realization. All they do is constantly worry about not living that they don't live at all. They think their life will 100% turn out a certain way and are prideful about it. But they don't realize that life throws them wherever it wants. All you have to do is be ho you are and treat people the way you want to be treated. Have a strong mindset and have that confidence in yourself to do whatever it is you want to do. It's your life, live it as you like :)

I love Yoda! Haha... 4:39 ok, what's your address Jean? I need to be your neighbour. Seems like you're figuring out the direction of your channel. Bali is great, and I love it! But I think inspiration, self help/discovery has a better reach & probably pay rate if that's what you're looking for. And its in line with your love for coaching too. Anyway, Happy New Year to you and Vitaly. Stay safe and stay healthy!
@JeanVoronkova3 жыл бұрын
me too! esp baby yoda hahaha. but seriously. if u do head back here please drop a shout (not here, i think u know where. And honestly i sometimes get busy n miss comments but if i see yours i will always answer ok) and we'll definitely do tea ok. U actually read me really well. I love doing the local scene/travel/food content too but not always? i find mixing it up with more intellectually challenging stuff is making the whole creation process more alive for me and i do hv a really strong interest in those topics. i wouldn't say i'm qualified to be coaching anyone (such huge responsibility!) but i am very interested to share the thoughts - put it out there and see what happens. I like mixing up these various topics so i know its not really what normal KZbinrs do (they all mantra on about sticking to a specific niche) but i think i just wanna post what I'm really thinking of at the moment or what V & I r doing in our lives here. F*** the rest of the shit. And yes Happy New Year 2022!! We went to Kintamani for a couple of days. Just got back. it was foggy but awesome!! Wishing u a great 2022 filled with good health and all happiness and success with all your endeavours!
@terubong3 жыл бұрын
@@JeanVoronkovaOh, don't say you're not qualified to be coaching. If you study many of the life coaches/inspirational coaches, you'll realize there's no standard accreditation. Some never even made it through high school. The more you believe, preach & practice the same set of principles/habits, the more you will seemed qualified. Its like a self fulfilling prophecy, dangerous if on the wrong path. Its perfectly ok to mix topics in your KZbin. It's YOUR channel anyway and you can do whatever you please and grow it organically. A specific niche is good too, it does make some sense, a safer path to building a channel. But it also sounded like those seeking a standard template to gain a standard level of success. Glad you found Kintamani awesome! I love the place, always joked that I'm going to do my pilgrimage there again. But I usually go after 4pm. Have a coffee or sample some left over buffet and just enjoy the cool air with a view. No tour coaches and vendors to disturb. I even went in 2000 to witness the eruption. It was dark, ominous and very hot. What a thrill.

I am really annoyed by everyone citing mark Zuckerberg’s wardrobe. The man has thousands of people who help him make decisions. I am not sayin the doesn’t have decisions to make, but he has more resources than all of us. I get the idea of minimizing decisions but let’s choose an another example.

@@JeanVoronkova I apologise, my comment was harsh. Part of you post suggests that the example of being a US president or the founder of Facebook is real success, where both of these characters have much to answer for. Zuckerberg, regarding a monopoly on suppression of free speech and in the case of Obama, his habit of arranging the assassination of "alleged" terror suspects with no trial (New York Times 2012 look up "terror Tuesdays" article). I think you mean well but the examples chosen are financially successful but morally unsuccessful.

Agree with your sentiments. However Obama a politician didn't help black folks prosper. That's not a measure for success. You are 100% incorrect. Check facts. Happy New Year
@JeanVoronkova3 жыл бұрын
thanks. I know of the sentiment against Obama from the perspective that he didn't do much for the black folks but overall i still regard Obama as a highly successful and intellectually respectable individual who represents a lot of positive things. There are lobbies, there are representative groups and there will always be opposing sentiments on public figures depending on which end of the spectrum you're coming from, but there's no denying that Obama is not an exceptional person and politician from many perspectives, not least considering the orange haired clown who came after him.
