Very Cool. When I get to this point I will insure calibration. Like the jars. good find. I would not have thought to use them because of metal tops. You are always teaching. Thanks again👍
@cyberaquarist8 жыл бұрын
Thanks John! Don't worry about the metal tops on the jars. They won't be coming in contact with salt water, and the calcium and alkalinity supplements won't corrode them either. I appreciate the comment.

Thanks for the comment Chad. I'm glad that I tested the first dose's accuracy. Otherwise I could have crashed both of my tanks. For the price these are great dosing pumps, and the calibration issue is easily solved.

nicely done video bro. very informative. good thing you were able to catch that calibration issue before you started dosing or that could have wreaked havoc in your tank. for the money I feel Jebao is a very good product and reliable. 👍keep up the great work!

Thanks bro! Other than the calibration issue, these are working very well. I'm happy with my decision in going with the Jebaos over the much higher priced dosing pumps. Thanks for the kind words and the support.

abdullah ahmed Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm extremely satisfied with the dosing pumps. Makes dosing easy. Remember that these aren't "set and forget". You still have to test parameters and adjust accordingly. I test once a week. I had to program an extra dose for my alkalinity additive on my 25 gallon just this week. It had dropped to 8.3 dkh due to the extra coral growth. I like to keep it at 8.9 dkh. Good luck!
@abdullah59708 жыл бұрын
cyberaquarist absolutely! I just like the fact that it's easier to use and it will also dose on time and at certain time as well everyday. Better than by hand.

Good catch on the calibration issue.. You should write a instruction booklet and sell them to anyone with these pumps and have jabeo pay you smh. What are your top 3 salt brands to use that will not throw off your dosing regime? I'm looking to change from reef crystals after this bucket to shoot for more natural sea water parameters ... RC makes it impossible with the frequency of water changes I am looking to do.. Just curious on your top 3 ... Thanks
@cyberaquarist8 жыл бұрын
I'm just glad that I caught the issue before I crashed both of my tanks. As you are well aware, we have to check, test, and question everything in this hobby for quality assurance. I'm currently using Aquavitro Salinity for my salt mix, and I've had great results with avoiding large swings after a water change. I didn't really base my tanks dosing regimen based on coral uptake, but rather my tanks trend. I averaged out uptake and removal over a 45 day period to determined my daily dose. My top three salt mixes are 1. HW Marinemix Reefer, 2. Aquavitro Salinity, and 3. Tropic Marin Pro Reef. All of these salt mixes have been formulated with optimum levels of the essential elements and major and minor trace elements for reef tanks. They are also some of the purest / cleanest salts on the market. Reef Crystals is pretty good too. I wouldn't hesitate using it. Thanks for watching and collaborating. I always enjoy and appreciate your input.
@shanemoore73398 жыл бұрын
I use the HW Marinemix Reefer and the 3 corals I have seem to perk up after my water change like crazy. My shrimp constantly molts as well and is growing like crazy. The only thing that worries me about this salt is I have been getting a little lower than advertised for ALK(less than 7). I'm wondering if this is why I am getting some blackish green hair algae even though nitrates and phosphates are undetectable. Calcium is consistently at 425-450 and Magnesium is always 1350(measured with Red Sea test kit).The other thing that sucks about this salt is that I can only find it at one supplier(bulk reef supply). It is easy to work with though. You can mix it with room temp water and damn near stir it clear in the mixing jug with a stirring stick. Great video cyber. Maybe I will switch to Salinity as well since I can get it at the LFS near me. The owner changes 10% of his 200 gallon show tank every 5 days, never doses and his corals are exploding! I swear, there are a million different ways to do this hobby!
@cyberaquarist8 жыл бұрын
+Shane Moore Thanks for the comment Shane. HW Marinemix Reefer is an extremely high quality salt mix that has been around forever. Each batch of Aquavitro Salinity is labeled with the test results by an independent lab separate from Seachem to insure quality and validate elemental makeup. My own tests parallel with the lab results. If you decide to switch to Salinity I know that you will be satisfied.

Cyberaquarist, do you know if you got the DP4 v1 or v2? I ordered one today and it states it is v2. I wonder if they fixed the issue. Definitely, I will have to check everything before it goes in "production".
@Ambrosius138 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the find on the calibration issue. What I did to fix the issue is to calibrated to 85 ml instead of 100 ml. Then I ran a program to dispense 20 ml and it was spot on. It wad approximately 155 revolutions for me to get it calibrated properly.

Before I made this video I hadn't heard of anyone else experiencing the calibration problem other than Brian, but I knew it would be common. I'm glad that you corrected yours.

i am using this pump. I'm getting a ton of air in my output line, even with a check valve near the exit point. Ideas?
@cyberaquarist6 жыл бұрын
Paul Diehm make sure that the hoses are pushed all the way onto the hose barbs and that the connections are tight. After that, purge all the air from the lines by running a manual dose into a small container that you can pour back into your dosing reservoir. You don’t want the manual dose going into the aquarium, or it will raise your levels too high. Don’t stop the manual dose until you are certain that all the air is purged. You will get liquid coming out for a bit followed by air, liquid, air, etc. Once you have a steady steam of liquid you are done.

@cyberaquarist8 жыл бұрын
Those are great dosing pumps. That was actually my first choice, but I couldn't justify spending the money for eight of them at $74.99 each and eight timers for @$9.00 each. It was more appealing to spend the $130 for two of these as opposed to $672+ for the BRS pumps. I know you will enjoy them.

Hey cyber how much carbon and phosguard do you have in your reactor, I have a 20 gallon tank and cant really understand how much to put in the reactor I have the I.M mini desktop reactor ,
@cyberaquarist8 жыл бұрын
Hey bud. I have 17 total gallons of water in my Fusion 25 and I run 4" of carbon when measured from the bottom of the reactor. I place two of the circular sponges on the bottom, the carbon (Matrix carbon), another sponge, and then top it off with Phosguard (about 1/4 cup) and the fourth sponge on the very top. All brands of carbon release phosphates to some extent, so by placing it upstream from the Phosguard allows it to be removed before entering the display. This configuration keeps the media tight and doesn't allow any of it to tumble. This is what you want. It is easy to change out the Phosguard while leaving the carbon in. I change the Phosguard every two weeks maximum or when I start to see algae creeping up. I change the carbon about once a month.

You're welcome Jose. Hopefully the newer version won't have the calibration issue. I'm so glad that I went automated. Makes life so much easier. I test once a week to make sure all is well,. I had to up the Ca dosing on the 38 by an additional 0.5 ml a day after a few weeks of setup. All my parameters stay spot on. You'll really enjoy these dosing pumps. Good luck bud!

@joseCalderon19768 жыл бұрын
+cyberaquarist So yes I did run into the same issue. 100ML will dose 3ML instead of 2ML. I did try to set it at 50ML, but it dosed less than desired, so I just left it like that. Now I know that 1ML is actually 2ML. I'm also supposed to have the V2, but it looks exactly like yours.

How do you like this doser?
@cyberaquarist8 жыл бұрын
9StickNate I'm glad that I started using these dosers on both of my tanks. They have worked flawlessly and keep my Ca and Alk parameters perfect. That's not to say that you can set one of these up and forget routine testing. As corals grow and their demands increase, the dosing will have to be increased as well. This is as simple as programming in the necessary amount of doses per day. I would recommend the Jebao DP-4 to anyone who needs to dose their reef tank.

Digital time display for mine doesn't get precise after a period of time regularly, gotta reset again from time to time. Btw, personally got a DP-4 with a defective motor right out the box with no luck lol This brand doesn't have spare motor part available, but the only way to replace any defective motors, which's to send back where the vendor we bought from, and waiting to be sent back after unknow period of times... Lol
