Love em. I’ve had my 91 a lil over ten years and it’s been all over the mid west. I run 5:1 in t-case, 2.5 “ exhaust into a flow master (sounds great) 3” under axle springs (OME) locker in front, tracker power steering and cutters on rear with 29” swappers. Awesome video fellas!!!

This is an awesome video. It will answer a lot of questions for people not sure about spring over vs. under, tire size, and gearing. It's seams like these are the most common questions out there. This video gives people a visual. Good job!

You guys are hitting some good obstacles for what looks like some fairly mild samurais on 30-33's. Red dude is a really solid driver, blue tin top could use some gearing and lockers for the way he drives and those tires
@jecustoms525 жыл бұрын
Thanks, we hope to head out for some more trail riding soon, tin top is in the process of getting locked 5.13s to complement the 6.5 t-case that is already in there. Red one has a front locker and 6.5s.

I have a 88 that has a weber carburetor,black horse racing header with open exhaust, black sky jacker shocks and 2 inch lift.Next year I'm planning on getting a turbo kit for it by Zora I think.I really like the 1.3 engine it's a strongly built engine so I'm not swapping it.

Great work, slow is good. Think the tyre pressures look a bit high, perhaps drop the pressure a bit and those machines would be able to climb the trees too.

I plan on getting a samurai this week, I just don't want to spend more than like 2500 and don't want one with any rust, any tips for what to look out for?
@jecustoms525 жыл бұрын
Defiantly look under the battery box and in the inner fenders toward the outer lip. Another major place for prominent rust is the rocker panels, if it still has the factory rocker covers they can be slid up slightly and you should be able to lean them back and see if there is any rust.
@pablogomez77215 жыл бұрын
I might get one on Sunday! Good luck mate.
@fujitsubo33235 жыл бұрын
you will not find a samurai without rust for 2500, you are dreaming if you think you will. unless someones done a full resto job and removed all the rust then any samurai is going to have rust somewhere they are old cars made with metal from a tuna can, just accept it and buy one anyways. look at the passenger and driver floor pans they like to rust out . look around the arches they rust there to.
@notrealy1802175 жыл бұрын
@@fujitsubo3323 Good information, thank you for that. I'm gonna look for one with minimal floorboard rust and check the panels and fenders

hi john love your video, is it hard to get panels and parts for the Samurai, i'm thinking of buying one and fixing it up.
@jecustoms525 жыл бұрын
There are a few body panels that are a little more expensive to get than others just do to them not having been made in a while. Aftermarket support though is plentiful and if you have any fabrication skills there a ton of routes you could take a build. I say go for it.

On the red one, can you drive around town with the 6.5s? What's your top speed? I'm getting the LROR deluxe spoa, new oem springs, and 31in Patagonia m/t tires. I will never drive down the interstate as it will just be a weekend warrior, so I'm thinking of going with the 6.5 tcase gears.
@jecustoms524 жыл бұрын
Totally fine around town and actually pretty peppy for what it is. I personally wish I would have went with 5.14 gears as I the engine has the power to provide me with a few more mph but I’m running out of rpm if I need to make and interstate jump for a few exits. I never tested out the “top speed” but at around 32-3500rpm it is mid 50s mph.
