To have seen Jeff playing his solo shows at his wife’s bar the Lounge Axe in Chicago was something else. It felt like a special time in musical history and I got to see him do this a few times. He was so raw in the 90’s. I’m glad he made it through but it was something to hear and witness. Cool guitar part Jedd!

Jedd, saw you last night with Rodney. Your playing was phenomenal ( as was the fiddle/violinist guy whose name I don’t know yet but will) I’ve been a guitar player for a long time ( 50 years) and your solos were exactly like I would want to hear. The combination of bluegrass licks with rock licks, double stop climbs, and one cascading lick that blew me away. And we loved you solo and will be buying a CD today. And you as a solo artist was perfect. Your guitar sounded amazing ( what pick up is in the Martin?) and your voice was beautiful. And your stage banter was very entertaining. I would have actually liked to hear more talking. 😂 What was the name of the wonderful song you did for your wife (if you read this)? And Rodney was better than I’ve ever seen him. Great show. Longtime fan ( like 1st Emmy album though everything since then. ) Yeah I’ll stop. I’m gonna binge on these. Thank you!!

1999 Fender Custom Shop Clarence White tele. Incredible bird's eye maple neck. Bought it new in 2002. Had to take lessons from Will Ray of The Hellecasters to learn how to use it. I still suck but it's a life goal. @@JeddHughesOfficial

Hey Jedd, I'm also a huge Wilco/Jeff fan. I really think Jeff is one of the greatest songwriters of our generation. I've watched every video I could find showing The Wilco Loft...the place just looks like heaven. Have you read the books How to Write One Song and Let's Go So We Can Get Back? Great reading if you haven't gotten to them yet. I listened to the track and it's beautiful...you should be proud!

I totally agree. Read both of those and they are brilliant. In fact Let’s go there so we can get back inspired a whole batch of songs Im thinking about putting out next year as a pseudo acoustic record. Thanks for tuning in mate

Very cool! That Tele sounds great!! I'll check out Rodney's record for sure. I haven't heard Sarah's name mentioned in a long time. Last time I saw her was Uncle Buk's first live show for KZbin. Her channel has ~a dozen tunes with just you and her on stage someplace. I put that on rotation when I'm working sometimes. Good to see you mate, hope all's well!! --gary

Beautiful everything. In Wilco’s 1999 documentary Jeff called the loft his dreamworld. Perfectly put. So cool you got to hang in there and work there. Jeff and Rodney. Both legends. Love them both. Dream world indeed. Did any of Jeff’s kids show up? Spencer is a great drummer as well. I saw him play in “Tweedy” at Newport Folk Fest as a teenager.

Hey Jedd discovered you through recordings/videos with Emmylou and Rodney…now the WILCO association. “Lofty” achievement indeed and you’ve earned your place alongside these giants of real music. Question: I have a 1972 Telecaster with original “tiny” frets After nearly 50 years I’m finally going to replace them. What is your preferred fret wire on your tele’s?

Hi Jed. Love your playing and your vibe of becoming 'you' and having your own voice on guitar. Have you met or played with Nel's ever? Do you like what he does and how do you feel about the space between classic 'Nashville' chops, and more experimental ways of expressing oneself?
@JeddHughesOfficial
@JeddHughesOfficial Жыл бұрын
Firstly thankyou for the kind words mate. I love Nels. I’ve always leaned in both directions when It comes to fundamental traditional tone and approach and experimental textures and attitudes. For example I love Johnny Greenwood every bit as much as Albert Lee. Its what I love about the guitar. No rules. Cheers man
