This was one of my favorite songs before I shipped out to boot camp years ago. Woke up one morning and realized that all the drugs, and dealing was bringing. Absolutely nothing. When I tried bringing it up to my "friends" they blew it off as a joke or I was trying to be better than them or something. I just wanted us all to prosper and grow. Fast forward nos, none of them talk to me. All of them doing the same shit. I got a couple houses, and all the time in the world to hang out with my wife and daughter.

Well it’s a song of him cutting off certain people, we need to cut off people that are only there for monetary interests. Look at what happened to Magic of Rah Hat when he helped the homeless guy, thats a perfect example of this song playing out.

I was stabbed and beat to a pulp by my best friend from childhood that I did everything for. Fed him, gave him a bed to sleep in, supplied his needs because he was down. Hid him when he needed to be hid. Even better I Got him out of his rut. Put him to work and changed his life. And he repayed me with stabbing me and beating me with his brother because I had to quarantine in the house we rented together because of covid. Trust nobody. I found this song when I was laying in the hospital bed recovering after a exploratory laparotomy because of the stabbing. This song saved my sanity

trey pound Totally agree brother. I grew up on the 90's era hip hop and was blessed to hear a huge variety of truly gifted mc's including Nas, Kool g Rap, Big Pun, Rakim & Redman as their albums came out. All amazing artists and all top tier greats. But all the greats seemed to soften off over time. Paz never slumped - every album has been a solid work. His ultra shit was Season of the Assassin - that album is just ridiculous. For my money I rate him as the greatest for being consistently dope over a 20+ year career on a large variety of projects... "Never did a song that's wack" 👊

"Real recognize real" - meaning that most of the masses ain't real. They like something because it's what others do. They are afraid of being real, because it means they might not get to be a part of the herd. Sad really, because being real even with that risk is the ONLY way to find the people that you actually want around you.
