This year IIT Guwahati organized IIT-JAM Paper also & the Physics paper was a Nightmare. It was even tougher than the 2017 paper (most toughest in history of JAM) set by IIT Delhi. So Be prepared students. This year the paper will probably be a beast like IIT-JEE 2016.

It is relative to some point but not always, if the paper is tough, then the one who's completed less syllabus but has better thinking and analyzing skills will do better than an average hardworking student who completed all the syllabus but doesn't have the thinking skills required for a tough paper. On the other hand, if the paper is too easy, then the one with a brilliant mind but less syllabus completed will definitely fall short as compared to the one with all the syllabus completed. So, this is where JEE is not relative.
