Thanks for explaining it sir. But in the latest NTA site pdf file the final criteria ( When everything else ties up ) is not based on date of birth but going to be based on least number of mistakes done. Let's double check that. 👍

@@cuetcompetishun Sir but I think there is a flaw in this as , if I am getting a rank of 6000 in my shift , it may be possible that (apart from my shift students )there are only 5000 students ahead of me , hence I am behind from a total of 11000 students from around 6lac but my 94 percentile doesn't reflect the same

@@ad3398 The assumption is based on the Law of Large Numbers. When the sample size is so large, the probability of around 6000 students being ahead of you from every shift is high ( that is , your rank is around 36000 from 6lac) and the probability of only 1000 students ahead of you in every shift is almost negligible because the chance of only 1 shift having a big proportion of very well prepared students and the other 5 shifts having less prepared students is very slim. However, small discrepancies will exist.

@@ad3398If you combine all the sessions there can be 24 ( At the max , unless same guy tops again ) 100 percentile candidates whose ranks will be top 24 depending on Maths , Physics , Chemistry & least number of mistakes.Then next 99.9999999 guys will be compared for next 24 ranks . This goes on for all the candidates. Each candidate's best score is considered only once inspite of multiple attempts. So , If one is falling in the first 25000 ranks , he is in the game. Meaning which the closer you are to 99 Percentile the safer you are. There will be lot of shuffling within these 1st 30000 people in multiple sessions & shifts.

I get 96.5 in march in which about 5 lakh given exam.Hence my my rank in march shift is about 18000. But my sir explain it is sure that my rank become 36000. Which is not good. In simple word if student appeared in exam less then percentile must be low. So is it good criteria

The NTA method of calculating rank is flawed Suppose in February attempt six students got 100 percentile but the Feb 26 shift 2 was the toughest then the student who got 100 percentile in toughest paper should have a better score in that attempt
