I would’ve recommended spending the 200$ more to get longer springs, lower control arm, shocks, and add a leaf or shackles

I bought the same kit, had to get a new drag link too. I had luck putting the spring compressor autozone pn 27036 on the springs before I took the weight of the vehicle off of them, way easier.

I realize this video is over a year old but I need to add a few points not touched on here. First, this is a 2-wheel drive XJ and having said that it's not going to see a lot of serious off road use. I can tell you from experience (92 XJ 4WD, 2Dr, 4.0 HO, 5Spd) that if you plan on lifting and using your JK for off road you WILL NEED to seriously modify and trim both the front and rear wheel wells to keep from shredding those expensive off road tires. Even with a solid 4" lift and 32" tires the articulation and suspension compression will collapse your springs enough to crush sheet metal. I also had to add 1.5" wheel spacers to keep the front tires from rubbing the suspension while turning. In doing that it pushes the tires outside your fender flairs so expect mud to cover your entire truck from the windshield on back. Happy trails!

I converted mine from 3.07 gears to locked 4.10 differentials front and rear from a high pinion dead YJ (Power Trax True Trac Lockers) Dana 30 front and Dana 35 rear - and did the Grand Cherokee drag link swap on the front suspension for a stronger steering set up. 3" puck lift on the front and 3" leaf spring blocks in the rear with new chrome-molly c-clip axles in the back. With 4 new lifted shocks. I've got almost 11" of clearance at the bottom of my rear pumpkin with 16" wheels and tires off a late model Grand Cherokee all for less than $600.

2 questions, You had no issue with the rear brake line from thre frame to the axle? And isnt the exhaust too close the fuel tank??

its only a 3 inch lift, I have had no issues with the brake line, the exhaust is too close to the tank "and the leave spring" in my opinion but it came like that from the factory.

zach romanoff Disconnect the track bar and sway bar to allow more travel, if you have 4WD I recommend disconnecting the driveshaft to that as well and the axle should drop down far enough to fit the springs in at full extraction, I did mine on the ground so I had to use spring compressors😂

Bryce Reed What I did is I lowered the axle down as far as I can then I bolted the shackle in tho the frame. First the I flexed the spring by welding a crow bar against the frame and that allowed me to line the spring up with the shackle.

Bryce Reed My brake line works perfectly fine anything over a 3 inch lift you would want to add an aftermarket one or if you take it off road but if your just daily driving it it would be okay

Wouldnt the bottom hole in the rear shackle give you another inch of lift in the rear so you are level and not squatting?

ponypwr it depends on the condition of your springs. But yes, the whole point of the second hole is to provide I little bit of tolerance.

Scott_4.6_ lee no problems yet. I’ve gotten new control arms and better coil springs to help with a more comfy ride but the shackles are still on there.

The ones I got where hub centric so I had to make them work, you don’t want those, not to mention I tried looking for them for that price and they are no longer available, so I found these at the lowest price I could find. Abdullah Dd I just fixed it, they no longer had the one I got. But I found another one just like it and put it in the description. It said 3 inch in the front but 2 inch in the back because it’s a lift and a leveling kit.

Unfortunately I don’t. But it’s a plug and play conversation. All you need it the front axle both driveshafts, transfer case and linkage. TCM, kick down cable, and mounting hardware are all the same.You have to get a 4x4 transmission because the 2wd has a 27 spline output shaft and the 4x4 has either a 21 or 23 spline depending on the year. Unless you can find a 27 spline for the NP231 that will fit. I know they make those for the LS 4l60 adapter kit, but I have never done that particular swap before.

And it was 2WD, then I converted to 4x4. Is an easy swap. That’s what I recommend you if you want a decent one.

What's wrong with wheel spacers? These are hubcentric so as long as he put a bit of loctite on the threads and keep them tight they will be fine. They add the same amount of strain on the lugs as s super offset wheel.

This is a 3” budget boost kit I bought of Amazon. If you going with 37’s I’d go higher. This video is a little dated, my Jeep has changed a lot since then. I currently have Rough Country 6 inch front coil springs, long arm kit and 4 in leaves in the rear along with 1 inch lift shackles. My Jeep is also on 37” tires at the moment.
