Matt is the best car reviewer ever.... very informative and points out every flaw a car has... like how on earth do you go from automatic to snow to sport and then to mud.... so laughable.. what was the engineers thinking?
@nigel.w8 жыл бұрын
Great to see Matt back! The other two are okay, but okay doesn't quite do it. There are so many okay/good reviewers today that only those with a certain something will ultimately survive. When Rebecca was at Car buyer, Matt and her made a great team. Since she has left, Carbuyer is nothing without Matt. Every time you watch one of the other two, you know you are watching nice, competent people, but when you watch Matt, you know you are watching one of the 'star' reviewers with a style that delivers a very welcome perspective. He's not a star driver or a collector -- those bases are well catered for elsewhere -- he's real, and tells it as a more than competent, car enthusiast, who gets to spend time with a lot of cars. His observations and comparisons are helpful to those of us that don't have the experience with so many cars that he has, nor the opportunity or time to drive everything that may be of interest. And on top of that he has a personal way with him that one is born with, which cannot be learned. Matt for all his apparent ordinariness, in addition to his broad knowledge, has that certain something that makes him one of the standout ('star') car reviewers. Thanks, Matt, for what you do and the way you do it.

Tried to test drive one of these three times. First time the transmission was broken, second time it had leaked oil all over the show floor and the third time it had a ticking sound from the engine which had the sales guy too worried to send it off. Three different cars, three different problems.

m4rs12 Basically I like the design, it comes well equipped, the interior feels well made and the offroad capabilities was supposed to be great (as well as class leading towing capacity). Gave up the thought on the first incident but still wanted to try it out. Fiat quality through and through.

+xanderxenius No sarcasm at all. Fiat 500 (all versions), Alfa Giulietta and MiTo, Jeep Renegade, Rubicon, Cherokee, Lancia Y, Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte are in my opinion the most distinctive in their classes and all magnificent. Most of other manufacturers are making cars to just satisfy average taste.

The 2,0L diesel engine is a joy to drive! It’s got tremendous torque, which makes the -manual- gearbox totally shift-lazy! Ik powers up hills in 5th, sometimes even 6th gear whereas most other engines dictate you to shift way lower. The manual shifting goes smooth like a dream too. I’ve never driven the 9-gear automatic.. On the one hand I’d love it, but I fear it’s reliability... I really want ACC on it! However, is is hard to get on used manual versions. So I’m still puzzling I’m afraid...

Equipped as shown, the Jeep Cherokee Limited would be $40k in North America. The Grand Cherokee with similar equipment is only $5k more, and that's why most people who are dead set on getting a _"fully loaded"_ Jeep Cherokee Limited end up paying a little more and leaving the dealership driving the much better Grand Cherokee.

One sure way to see how reliable a car is would be to drive it on the roads here in Australia - not only because of the heat but the poor road surfaces. That's why Jeep and Land Rover cars are considered to be a bit of a joke here. Jeep had a very effective advertising campaign that made a lot of people buy them, mainly because they are a nice looking car, but they have so many faults people are regretting the purchase.

i wonder why some countries have the steering wheel on the right. instead of the left
@chanshuwun8 жыл бұрын
I would get a Land Rover Sport instead. I drove one as a rental for a week, it was a base model with the 2.4 petrol engine on it. It drive like a Japanese car. It's pretty cheap in American though. If it is X3 money in the U.K. I would get a X3 instead. The UConnect system is great. I love it on my Grand Cherokee. It makes sense to buy a Grand Cherokee in the U.S. because you get European quality with a lesser price. It cost $51000 USD fully loaded in the U.S. Compare to a Land Rover Discovery cost $80,000 fully loaded.
@NubletPie2788 жыл бұрын
It starts £5000 cheaper than the X3
@chanshuwun8 жыл бұрын
+MRFUCKOFF202 you don't wanted the base model, I would buy something from the Japanese instead.
@NubletPie2788 жыл бұрын
Johnny Chan What's so wrong with the base model that it makes the Japanese better?
@chanshuwun8 жыл бұрын
+MRFUCKOFF202 you pretty much get the same thing as a Dacia. The 2.4 Petrol is under power. If I buy one, I would buy the Limited with the 3.2V6. I don't need to buy one, because I already got a Grand Cherokee Summit with all the bells and whistle.
@NubletPie2788 жыл бұрын
Johnny Chan The Japanese slightly-raised-hatchbacks look even more like Dacias to me. I'm not sure which Japanese car you are referring to, but as an example the Nissan Qashqai you can have with a 1.2 petrol or 1.6 diesel with 113bhp and 128bhp respectively, so you're looking at a 10-12 second 0-60 time there. The Jeep offers a 2.0 diesel with 140bhp/10.3s 0-60 and a 2.2 diesel with 200bhp/8.7s 0-60 and then there's the V6. As far as I'm concerned these are far better engines and the Jeep doesn't look insanely anonymous and dreary as the Qashqai, especially inside. They don't offer the 2.4 in the UK anymore, they're all Fiat group engines now.

Jesus christ how much are they charging for that thing in England for it to be compared to the X3 and Land Rover. here in the U.S. you can pick one up brand new for less than 20k if you do your shopping. The BMW, Land Rover, and Audi are easily double that price
@cameronvlogs85484 жыл бұрын
On the bright side, although the initial price is BMW X3 territory, the depreciation means that buying one second hand can cost you less than £10,000, which I think is absolutely worth it!
