I'm having the EXACT same problems. So glad for this video. Thanks. I have an 83 CJ-7. I've literally replaced the entire front entire from the steering shaft down. New gear box, uv axle joints, hub bearings, power steering pump. The list goes on. But!! I still have loose play. I realized after watching your video, that my bushings are shor, all four corners. I would have never thought that it would have made this big of a difference. But, my shackles look identical to yours before you replaced your bushings. So glad that you posted this video. Thumbs up brother.

Great video! I was wondering, why is there even a bushing on the top side, why can't we just weld that bracket on the top and just stay with the one bushing at the leaf spring. Wouldn't that be sturdier?

Good question They actually move back and forth when you hit bumps But what I was thinking was put sealed bearings in them Then there would be no left/right flex and they could still move forward and backwards Thanks for watching!

im thinkin once you do rears of front it will clean up tons do to fact of the length of springs ! be interesting to find out im thinkin backs be in worse shape than fronts

It steers tons better But I still need to do the fronts rear bushings And the front and rear on the back But right now I’m having carburetor problems It never ends!

I agree Probably gonna remove them and get new leaf springs They were on there when I bought it

It's called a Burr bit I'm pretty sure.
