i just bought new NGK spark plugs wires and coil pack for my 2010 doing this all tomorrow

I am going to change mine out. I keep hearing an arching sound for the first 30-40 seconds and then it stops. It’s not throwing any codes and the idle is fine. I checked all spark plugs to make sure they were seated all the way down as well. This is the only thing I can think of that could be causing that sound. I am open to any suggestions though.

Yeah an arching sound will either be your coil pack, or a loose engine ground

JK Gear and Gadgets yeah but I checked at night and saw no actual arch. I’m just gonna but that 30 dollar coil pack and hope that is the issue. I think that’s an easier route than chasing a wire

Try dialectic grease and clean the coil to prevent carbon tracks arching.

Did it end up fixing your rough idle? mine is sticking at around 650. I’m planning on changing my ignition coil as well today. If it doesn’t work I might look into the throttle actuator.

Joel did you ever install this coil pack? I too have a 2008 Sahara and am getting the rough idle and misfire on 4. Changed plug but still rough idle. Just got new wires and thinking about coil pack..

@@tygould2474 I just did the coil and it seems to have resolved the misfire code. Will update you if it changes. Sorry for so long before reply, but having kid number 2 really slows things down on getting things done

Can I disable mine by pulling the coil pack wire? My Jeep will be staying in a vulnerable area for 10 days by tomorrow night and I want to keep it from being stolen each night it's parked there.

So I changed my coil and it was fine and drove 3 hours to King of the Hammers and I lost a bunch of power, so I drove home and single code P2305 now I believe its the PCM. How has your coil been?

@@JayBowmanJeeper mine has been fine ever since. have you changed all your wires? sometimes a shorted wire can blow a coilpack. It sounds like you possibly have another bad coilpack, or like you said, your PCM is frying the coil.

I just installed a screamin demon Coil and MSD performance wires on my 2011 JK and straight up notice a difference in idle, shifting & power will comment more on gas mileage after a tank or 2
