what to expect when lifting a commander

3" OME lift with 1/2" spacer on coil up front, 1.5" wheel spacers, JBA A-arms,pinch weld mod - Run 255/75 on 2017 Rubicon rims with a little bit of rub. I would go with a slightly smaller tire off road, when flexing hard it rubs bad and cuts the tires. Just ordered a airlift kit to install in the back coils to see if that will help rubbing when loaded down and off-road...

I have a 2.5 in Rough County lift kit on my commander with 265/70 18 A/T it rubs a little but I like how it looks and runs

yes must have friction modifier in it, the pure oil is to slippery and prevents the limited slip from locking...axles, drive shaft are good with a 2.5 inch lift. I have 31.10.50's and got the same room other than pich mod. Lifting them watch your front drive shaft, I just replaced my transfer case and my differential bushings, drive axles and wheel bearings, just to stop a clicking when turning or driving straight while hitting the gas pedal to any degree. I have also god miles on a hemi 200,000 miles on my rig transfer case was factory....just painted my struts and spindles and front diff last night put the diff in and new transfer case ...getting my jeep WK back on the road...But the lift stresses your cv axles and wheel bearings, I have JBA's UCA's , wheel spacers added extra stress to wheel hubs and wore them out, the transfer case had silver oil come out not honey colored.....not a good sign..Warning!!!!! anyone with the limited slip 5.7 limited commander or grand cherokee....there was only 25k allowed to be made.and from here to philly no front differentials without paying 7 hundred on used ones with 160k plus miles on them....I rebuilt it because shops have a 6 month back log...smartest thing to do is all the work yourself , you wil save 1000's I saved over 3300 in labor by doing it all myself with about 8 hrs of total work....1.5 to take front diff out, 25 minutes a side to dismantle everything like cv axles and shocks, lift, spindle...transfer case took me 3.75 hrs...1 botl...buy ratchet wrenches only tool that made it to the last top bolt on passenger side..

Had the same issue. Was told JBA Uppers would help that CV angle but those are a bit out of my price range

I used the Rocky Road outfitters 2.25 lift. Works great and looks awesome. Been on for 4 years.

@@beaushow319 www.rockyroadoutfitters.com I think it was 250 or so. Not much at all. My Commander has had a bunch of other problems though. Rebuilt transmission. Rebuilt rear end. 2008 5.7L

Yah I hear you iv done a complete frontend upper lower inner and outer and front differential bushings need a new front drive shaft. And my service 4wd is up on the information screen no one near me rebuilds the dealership said its eather the sensor or it's the transfer case and they don't service them only replace them

@@beaushow319 mine currently failed inspection. Sitting in the driveway. Need ball joints. Exhaust manifold. New radiator. Axle leaking on rear brakes. Love the thing but geez. Put more in than I paid for it.

I am in sweden the only one ,drivning jeep commander 4 inch superlift. Never had any problems at all on 33" Tyres. Drivning like That in years.

Btw i have a grand cherokee 2006 mb diesel aswell.goes like a rocket to,the diesel commander is tuned to 265 hk and 610 nm.

Howd your engine hold up with the Lucas? I thought about using it but was advised not too. Do you or anyone try marvelous mystery oil?

Used it every time no issue with the full synthetic black label But with the original white label it triped my viskosoty sensor

No there wouldnt be. Or order some Superlift steering knuckles and call it a day

so i have a spacer lift on my 2010 and im interested inthe notrailrated commander lift whick is the ome coils and the bilstien adjustables with new larger ucas. whT do you think of that lift am i asking for trouble? have you seensuperlift for commander any opinions? thank u

The omu coils work great for the rear. Helped a lot with sag when I'm hulling a trailer that has sum toung whight. If you going to put them on the front eather A use the omu coil with a stock shock or B don't use the omu coil and run stock and use the bilsten adjustable. I'm running the bilsten and the omu and it has way to much rebound makes the road seem rougher than it really is

@@beaushow319 I'm looking at replacing the HD springs up front with the MD springs. I do not like all that stiff rebound up front. You should consider replacing your UCAs with JBAs UCAs. they are worth the $.
