With shocks off and sway bars off there should be plenty of axle droop to do coil install and removal with dicking around with a coil compressor .

I put my 2" rough country kit on my 07 commander without a spring compressor.

Had to put ratchet straps on the shocks and lower the jeep back onto them, tighten the ratchet, install the spacer and cut the straps off. B!+c# of a job, took me 2 days just on the front. Highly reccomend a spring compressor and an actual wrench set as opposed to adjustable wrenches. Also need deep well sockets up to 24mm, and an axle nut wrench would help. An impact wrench would've made it so much faster too.

cool shit....just changed the struts on my subaru....woah the winter fun now with the new tires....yep pulled over in a alley testing them out...just a warning since its all wheel drive. told the cop next time i'll check them out on the roadway with traffic if he'd ike

You can get just the bushing and just replace that if needed for the lower control arm

I just put a 3 inch on and I used a ratchet strap to help with the front since I couldn't remove the lower strut fork bolt

Did u do the same thing he did to get it in I'm trying to add a 3' lift on mine
@CHAOSMOVEMENT5 жыл бұрын
I had to do lower control arms and the clevis there was no getting those bolts off. I ended up replacing the entire suspension front and back there was so much rust. Now my rocker panels are rusting out. These WK types do not hold up well at all in the north east.

Just didn’t my 08 wk and it was a bitch to do. Definitely needed spring compressors as nothing dropped down enough to get time out front or rear. Put on 1.25” spacers because kit says you can run 265/70/17 so I put on duratracs and they wouldn’t clear without spacers. Rides like crap now.

I know you said before you only do dealer work, are there any exceptions to this rule?

I did a clevis lift on mine from hevymetal suspension is a hell alot easier because you don't have to take off the struts and Is a 3.5 at the front and 2 in the rear
@bryanhersman40373 жыл бұрын
Did your bolt come out easy? I bought that lift for my 2009 with 140k on it and haven't put it on yet. I'm worried about that coming out easy.
@mguerrero87873 жыл бұрын
@@bryanhersman4037 there 2 bolts that you need to take off to swap the clevis a lower bolt and a upper bolt they both come off easily i did use a 1/2 impact i bought at harbor freight, now when you swap for the new clevis the new clevis the upper bolt doesn't want to go inn so what i did was i used a hammer to push it in a little then with the impact driver was able to screw it inn.

does it make it look squatted??? mine just got delivered yesterday, haven't put it in yet and i dont want it squatted...
@mguerrero87873 жыл бұрын
@@wrestler1383 it does a bit, but what I did was I didn't use the spacer in the rear I used 2003 chevy tahoe rear coils and to raise it more at the front I put 51000 adjustable bilstein shocks at the front and i still had rake I think it looks really good

Hubby lifted my commander so now I need help getting in. I'm 5'1. All the steps I like say they don't work for my commander. Is it an install difference or are they basing that off of a non lifted vehicle? I really like the Bully steps.

how did you cut the bolt on the lower arm?? its giving me a hard time to get it out
@robertvujcic62706 жыл бұрын
I cut mine with a reciprocating saw. It was the worst experience of my life. I ended up removing my lower control arm just to replace the bushing with what was left of the bolt inside. I hope you had better luck

@ChristianWTR14 жыл бұрын
Im doing the 3 in and its a royal pain in the ass considered selling it and buying a 2.25 inch lift
@mguerrero87873 жыл бұрын
I don't know if you guys still have your wk s but I highly recommend a clevis lift fromo hevymetal suspension for the wk or comander is $169 ÷ tax on ebay IS A HELL ALOT EASIER THEN THE STRUT SPACER and is a 3.5 at the front and 2 in tha back
