Hi, thanks for the video. I have the "new version" 2017 Compass Limited, and finding videos was a bit of a challenge, because there are many out there with content for the outgoing version of the 2017 Compass. Much appreciated! Thumbs up. :)

They just make little things like this harder every single year. All 3 of my other vehicles have tabs on the glovebox that you just push in on the sides and remove. Having to take out all these screws is just added time to prevent people with zero experience to take it to the dealer. Luckily I'm not one of those people yet I still came here to save the headache. Thank you for making this video

Thank you very much sir for the step by step! Having a 10mm socket was a pain in the cake to find so I bent that pizza ship upward to take that cover out. I use a K&N and call it a day they're good for up to 25k miles and you can clean the filter then put that sucker back in.

Im not sure how, but my insurance card/registration fell behind my glove box. I Googled how to remove the glove box, and i came across your video. I just want to say thank you because now i know how to get my info from behind it and change the filter, which i have no idea when it was changed last. 😅

I’m glad you found your registration and that you found how to change the cabin air filter… Its more common than you know that people don’t even know they have one. Definitely change it out once a year minimum especially if you use your HVAC a lot like my wife does, lol. Thanks for watching!!

Do a full service for the jeep compass (brake, transmission, oil, filters, etc) that would be great

Don’t try to pull the honeycomb cover by the tab that looks like it’s exactly for that: popping off the cover because surprise! It broke with the tiniest bit of tug. It’s just there for decoration. 😂

Biggest issue with the 2.4L multi-air is they are known for using oil so keep an eye on your levels between changes and don’t follow the manufacturer time for oil changes… all highway (30 miles one way) you can stretch it to 5-6K but city/short trips try and do them a little more often like 3-4K. Hope this helps, thanks for watching and happy wrenching!!

Hey man, I recently found out I have a head gasket leak on my jeep compass 2019 I was wondering if you have ever ran in into that problem and if you have, would you mind giving me a tutorial on how to fix a head gasket leak thanks man. PS love the videos. Hope you keep making more.🔥
@jlautomotive63499 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I have not heard or seen that problem with the Compass… depending on how bad the leak is you can always try K-seal which you pour in and will not clog the system. This will fix most “small” leaks but not bigger ones. I also no longer have my compass as my wife wanted something a little bigger so we currently have a ‘21 Grand Cherokee so looking at a head gasket video is not an option. These are inline 4cyl so if you were to attempt the change it’s honestly not that hard and can be done in the Jeep… sorry to hear about the compass, hope one of the two fixes works? As always thanks for watching and happy wrenching!!

Hello friend, what about the compass 2022, which has the black piano finish on top of the glove box screws, how do you do it?
@scottlivesey1470 Жыл бұрын
My 2014 Compass does not have any screws or bolts to remove. Also you do not have to remove any plastic trim.

I would recommend RockAuto.com… Not only are they an incredible site for car parts but they have a great selection too boot… from economy to OEM to upgraded parts all in one stop shopping… I know it sounds like a plug, it’s not they are just a great place to get parts and not break the bank. I would also recommend if they have it an OEM filter and to change it each year… just like your air filter to the motor. I hope this helps and as always, thanks for watching!!

So I just had mine changed, three years old only 13,000 miles don’t drive it much was told there was a mouse nest on top of air filter was five dead mice. Is there room for that on top of that air filter? It doesn’t look like it..
@jlautomotive63492 жыл бұрын
First off thanks for watching… as to your two questions, yes there is room in the filter box for mice to build a nest and to transition to the second question the mice are there because you don’t use your vehicle enough… I am actually in the the process of making a video on this topic but for a real quick tip… Get yourself some mint essential oils to place in/around your vehicle to keep the mice away because air filters are not the only thing they will destroy! You can place the oil inside your engine bay and in the trunk area depending on the vehicle… you can also place it around the door opening’s if you have a garage if not inside the vehicle as said earlier would be your best bet… again thanks for watching!!

Yes, unfortunately some vehicles (like the Compass) are harder than others… thankfully this really only needs to be done once a year. I personally don’t understand why it couldn’t just be some push tabs to simply replace the filter… Thanks for watching!!
