Hi there! Needing the link to replace head gasket on my '88 YJ. I ordered online and got a plastic cover. Any thoughts? Cheers from Baja 🤙🏾

You are supposed to drop the dizzy with the bracket hole pointing at around 1 oklock

Is it normal for a dizzy to be able to move ? I can rotate mine clockwise and counter clockwise. Obviously runs like shit when I move it

Why does the book say 4 and no mention of 5. Another thing can you rotate the crank case to line up the oil pump like they do on other engines, sense the gears are already engaging the cam?

Well see I’m bout to try this tonight, picked up a new distributor last night, took the old one out before without knowing which way it was facing, never done this before, just bought a 99 Jeep Wrangler sport 4.0 6cyl… plan was just to get a new distributor cap but nooooo the screws snaps off on me and I tried to drill them out but drill bit broke off so got no choice but to do this,

This distributor part is where I’m stuck at, I need a better explanation since I know nothing about these engines and I just got mine back rebuilt from machine shop but gotta install distributor myself

Did you prime the engine yet? You’ll end up pulling the distributor to do so.

Yeah, that's true. Good point. I'll leave it in place until I'm ready to start it.

Hey dale, I think I’ve already said this but your vids have been so helpful and inspiring for me. That being said keep them coming! But I have a question about the distributor and timing on Jeep yjs. Mine is actually a 2.5 but I’m sure their electronic ignition systems are about the same. Are you clear how the Jeep adjusts ignition timing advance? Like I can’t grasp how an ignition system with a distributor that’s locked in position can adjust timing. Also, I’ve heard so many different things on forums, but is it true that the distributor has to be installed in the exact same place like you did, or can the Jeep some how adjust? I here so many people say that it can but I just can’t wrap my head around how that would be possible. Sorry for long question but this has been a mental hag up for me in my rebuild of the upper half of my yj 2.5. Thank dale!
