This video is the EXACT reason why I’ve singled out you, Ali, for 25+ years. Honest opinions intermixed with practically and reasonableness, but still not giving up your goal even when a pivot is required.

Big fan of the high clearance bumper. Truck looks amazing!!
@Adrian-rn1ym26 күн бұрын
@@michaelcholico8645 yup , i love the look of the bobbed bed . But the box is small enough stock and if you need somewhat of a box this is the best option in my opinion…. And looks sweeet as well

What a great video and I think I will look at building something similar… Absolutely love these Gladiator builds, keep up the incredible work!!

Man I love a Rubicon Gator Gladiator. Just speak volumes to my soul. Which is a reason I think im going to trade in my 21 Gladiator for JTR 25 with the 41 color scheme.

Let this be a lesson to everyone out there thinking they need more and more stuff on their vehicle to be happy. Guy had flat bed with tray and got rid of it all to go back stock and tube bumper.

Excellent analysis, just don't try to convince the Aussies on their 4wd channels ;) I like the bumper because of its functionality. Gladiators are excellent, and if you aren't going to bob the bed, this is a good compromise.
@ReConGrpTxАй бұрын
That bumper is SICK!!! Might consider a piece of UHMWPE on that skid to make things siiiiilky smooth if you happen to drag it.

Hey buddy I wanna get the same rear bumper you got where can I get it ?
@DrivingLineАй бұрын
You’ll need to reach out to Chad. I found him on Instagram. If you click the description of the video, you will see his page and you can send him a message there next to Wheeler Industries.

Glad you got rid of catering truck bed thing😂
@gottons9748Ай бұрын
Built one like this last winter. Full skid with it tho. The clearance gain is amazing. Nice mod.
@capt.stubing5604Ай бұрын
Awesome modification, does the guy who made the bumper want to make any more?
@DrivingLineАй бұрын
I believe so. I think he’s trying to figure out how much demand there will be and for what style. He usually builds them with a receiver, so that changes the work/layout a little. I would just hit him up and tell him you are interested.
@SDConditАй бұрын
I did this but with a Artec bantam bumper. I was sweating cutting off that sheet metal lol. I will say, that tube bumper you have is real nice! Even more clearance than I have.

I just messaged them to get an idea on price. Hopefully it makes sense vs just paying for the motobuilt bob. I’m at a crossroads as both of my bed corners are dented from wheeling, so if the price is right, I’ll live with the dents. But if it’s 2k plus like a lot of the not tube options, motobuilt it is
@DrivingLineАй бұрын
Pricing probably depends on options and if he’s going to do a batch run. He’s not a bumper manufacturer, just a custom fab shop. So, that’s going to be reflected in his pricing. That being said, if I could justify having a smaller bed, I would have a Motobilt bed for sure.
@Tinker3504Ай бұрын
yep, I’m already in contact. Pricing on his batch of 10 has me hooked and I’m on that batch list. Unless it jumps when he sends the final quote, I’ll be one of the 20 or so with this bumper in February.
@richardwilliams7085Ай бұрын
Ali do you not have a rear sway bar? Great build on the truck, mine is the same color but doesn't look like that YET! I have gone back and forth with trying to find something like this or the Motobilt bobbed. So far I think this is the best idea for keeping the bed factory length.
@DrivingLineАй бұрын
Thanks. I do not have a rear sway bar. I damaged the mounts and the links a while back. So, I just pulled it. Honestly, it really doesn’t make a big difference. At least, with this configuration. I’d like to get an anti-rock for the rear at some point. Mostly, so when I set it up for going camping with the kids, it will handle the tent and stuff a little better.

Hey Ali I’m happy you put this video up I’m loving the high clearance on that bumper.. when you think wheeler industries be back up and running again.. if you find out when he will be back working again can you please let us know if you can? I would love to have that bumper it’s perfect I feel the same way you do
@DrivingLine23 күн бұрын
I’m not sure if my original reply came through. So far as I know, he hasn’t closed down Wheeler industries. So, I’m not sure what you’re referring to being back open. He’s doing a limited run of the bumpers. If you’d like to contact him, his Instagram link is in the description of the video.

@DrivingLineАй бұрын
I agree. I like that bumper a lot. My Fox shocks mount behind the front bumper, which presents an issue. I’ve been trying to figure out if it’s worth trying effort to change. I want to get my bed storage and tent setup sorted first.

If it wasn't for my receiver dragging on the trail, my spare would have. With that much more clearance, my spare will take a beating
@DrivingLine22 сағат бұрын
Sounds like it may be time for you to relocate your spare. 😉
@nickaltvater559222 сағат бұрын
@DrivingLine I considered removing the receiver, but then I priced bumpers with a tire carrier. Good thing I was sitting down 😆 I'd like to use that spare tire space for water storage. I went camping for a year. I learned what I liked and disliked about my AEV JT and the Harker EDC.
@a1racer441Ай бұрын
my plan is to go the motobuilt bed i think its the best solution on the market and has a bumper and fenders built in, and for the price it would cost to properly bob the stock bed the motobuilt is a better solution and you can sell the stock bed to recoup some of the cost.
@DrivingLineАй бұрын
I love those beds. Not sure if it’s the right fit for me at this moment in time, but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings to have one of those on this Jeep eventually.

Make an 8 foot bed. Then a cap from ARE. That would be worth something... That small POS is worthless
