And it shows a real side of the trucks, not just “wow this thing picks up well when I floor it” or “it’s got a nice interior” because people like this construction guy want to know if their truck can actually do work, not just look good mall crawling. Look at him, he hasn’t upgraded his truck in forever because nothing can actually do work like those old trucks. And his comment at the end made the whole thing. 20:32

@@GC-ph9mz It's also probably due to legal restrictions when it comes to weight ratings as well. Certain classes of driving license forbid people from driving vehicles over certain weight ratings or axle capacity. Then there are the individual state regulations as well. Sometimes it's easier to de-rate a vehicle in order to comply with regulations than it is to certify drivers for higher license classes.

I recently found out that an old change (which I have yet to personally do) will cost upwards of $450 in Canadian per change. It's not the end of the world, but I'll be honest that I didn't know that prior to purchasing the vehicle. This is my first diesel engine vehicle and I love it. Not that anyone is going to buy a gladiator to load it with plywood all the time but if you do, you cut a 2 x 4 and it goes across the wheel well and then you cut two more 2x4s and they go in the slot behind the wheel well and it makes a shelf for the plywood that is perfectly level with the tailgate when you latch the cables up halfway

Enjoyed the video , the power outlet in the bed is not worth the price of having one. Glad to see a video of what one will do. I'm in the process of purchasing a Jeep Gladiator Mojave and it does not have the bed outlet but just about everything else on it. Thanks for the video guys.

That Cummins is in a lot of off-highway equipment - like skidders. Used a sheet of plywood for bed protector .

The real problem I see here is the trim level; if you want to work it like a truck get a Maxtow. Mine has over 1600lbs. payload and, according to Jeep, over 8000lbs. towng capacity all while still being very capable off-road with a couple modifications.

I just checked online in my area and $67k can also get you a VERY well equipped Ram 2500, F250 or Chevy/GMC 2500 with lots and lots of bells and whistles.

Awesome as always. To answer Tommy's question "who does this kind of stuff" with the logs. My father in-law, with his 1982 Nissan Patrol!

Seriously, this kind of farm/country chores are exactly what I use my Gladiator to do. I installed the Magnuson SC to get diesel torque and the all in price probably is pretty close at end of day.

Given that it is a JEEP, I wouldnt be surprised with its limited payload, especially with a diesel in the engine bay. That said, I think the gladiator did a pretty good job taking on its given tasks. I certainly wouldnt use ANY truck that has less than a 6 foot bed for farm/ranch work. Its a pretty capable truck, but I feel it would be too urban, imho.

5:36 PLEASE, don't ever do this! You transfer 3 times the weight right to your lower back, while lifting from that angle. I crushed 3 discs in my spine doing that very same lift. Spinal cord compression, and I'll never be the same.

Next time divide the total watts by the voltage. That will give you how many amps you can run. I this particular application you can only run a little over 3 amps in the bed plug.

440 lb-ft is a lot of torque for a mid sized truck. Full sized trucks from the early 90’s had barely 250! Trucks have come a long way.

I don't mean to be mean or rude, but in 1999, I had a 1996 Tacoma, and it did the very same things. It had somewhere around 1500# of payload to boot.
