Jeep Grand Cherokee Battery Replacement and Key Fob Remote Start Fixed

2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6L key fob remote start was not working and replacing cranking battery solved that problem.
The Jeep had the original Mopar battery 05033394AA and was replaced with a new Interstate MTX-49/HB. I was surprised the original battery even lasted that long. The new Interstate battery is larger and the hold down bracket had to be modified.
I hope this video is helpful on how to replace the battery and may solve another remote start issue.

Be sure to have the battery load tested before replacing, they are expensive.

I have the same problem, I just bought a 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6 and it still has the original battery it is cutting off the remote start I'm going to change the battery to see if I can get remote start.

On this Jeep there is a bracket at the bottom of the battery and floor pan. Hope that helps.

Permanent, no more issues with the remotes in my case.

You were wearing your wedding ring! You should always remove any jewelry from your hands when you’re working on electrical systems. You don’t want to have it accidentally complete a circuit between the positive terminal and negative ground. That would instantly heat the jewelry and burn you badly. Same thing applies to household electrical wiring. The jewelry could complete the circuit between the line and neutral wires. But a great instructional video otherwise.

You are absolutely correct! All of my career has been in electronics, industrial electronics, PLC's, motor controls and robotics. I normally slip my ring in a pocket when working with electricity and this time did not. Terrible how we become complacent at certain times no matter how experienced one may be. Dodge chrysler jeep has very poor engineers. How the hell would you ever think that the battery would be under the passenger seat

I discovered that it was under the passenger seat when I bought the Jeep. There is an empty compartment under the driver seat, probably used in some models for some feature this one does not have. I had a BMW and the battery was in the trunk. Thanks for the comments.
