Yes, we get that its a safety feature. But.... these kinds of devices should ALWAYS be about to be auto-reset when the temperature cools, or else provide a plastic bridge pin that would allow it to be reset from outside the unit, without completely taking it apart. For this product version, at least you can reset it. For the K-Duo Special Edition, Keurig actually used a non-resettable fuse that is soldered in place! This is an intentional design FLAW and Keurig knows exactly what they are doing here. They are hoping naive people will simply "throw away" their machines if this happens outside of their crappy little warrantee? Oh wait, this kind of this is probably treated as "misuse" and not covered by any warrantee. The other likely reason they did this is to make lots of money for their official Keurig repair contractors, knowing for them its a can be a fairly trivial fix, but they will likely charge customers by the hour, even for a 3 minute fix, and probably cost them $120 or $150 to "fix" it. Then, if customers balk and say "screw it, I'll just buy another", then Keurig wins again. So its a win-win to design garbage products like this.

great video. I learned a lot. I have this saw and am having problems aligning trunnion to adjust blade. With all four bolts loose, trunnion moves but not enough. At max adjustment I still have .1005 thousands out. Should I remove trunnion and elongate bolt mounting holes? Please advise. Really like saw. Thanks.

I have a Rockwell model 9 myself. It's difficult to find the kind of 9" blade I want though, so I usually just run it with either an 8" blade or even a skilsaw blade since most of the stuff I cut is usually only about an inch thick. Mine has a Dayton 1.5hp 120/240 motor on it. Don't know if it is original to it either. I do find that with the smaller blades I use that it makes that motor feel even more powerful than it would with the 9" blade though. I have impact drivers but never can seem to remember to use them. I just grab a gear wrench and a ratchet/socket and go to work, lol, but I just get stuff good and snug. Never saw any reason to tighten stuff down like I was trying to "Hulk-out" on 'em.
@CarveTools
@CarveTools Күн бұрын
I often us the impact driver to speed things up but have to be careful to not overtighten bolts. My first table saw when I was about 14 years old was a Rockwell 9 inch direct drive. I think it came from the JC Penney catalog. I never got another 9" blade and used a standard 7-1/4" like on a circular saw. Thanks for the comments!

Love the MacGyver in you, but if @WilliamPowell is correct and it sells for $3, that would be funny. I need a Suncast handle that broke in two, but it's like an anodized aluminum, so I need to become a MacGyver also. Cheers

Thanks for including the info about checking the pump motors! I had two units where I reset the thermal switch and they immediately tripped when trying the first brew. Both sets of motors were working but there was apparently air in the lines and they did not draw water. I was able to prime the lines by separating the top line from the 3 way connector on the left side of the machine and using a squeeze bottle to fill the small compartment with a bit of water. Once I did this, I could run the motors and fill the lines with water before resetting the switch one more time. Both units work great after a descale cycle. Also note: My motors were labeled and are indeed 12 volt motors. I found that a standard 9 volt battery is enough to power the motors for testing.

Done! Thank you! I use to use my machine just about every day then stopped for a lil while. Thinking that’s why the clog happened or someone was using non filtered water in it. I did not have a volt exchanger to use, yet I was able to fast pinch the tube above chip board right as the pumps started to run. Giving the pressure force to push the clog open. And it has been running since! Thank you dude!

I wish my battery would come out as easily as shown in the video. I got it to move out slightly (putting the end of the battery even with the outside of the case above), and it won't budge any further, even pulling on the tab adhered to the side of the battery. I was hoping for some missed procedure, tip, or secret technique. I did finally manage to get it out, and there was an almost imperceptible bulge near the center of one side of the battery. I'm talking "Is that actually a bulge or just my imagination" size, but apparently enough to really wedge it in there.

I hate my Honda smart drive mower so much and I despise the salesman who talked me into buying it. The motor that drives the wheels is SO EFFING HEAVY. If I didn’t have that stupid Smart Drive on this thing adding so much weight I wouldn’t need the Smart Drive to help me push it! My brother’s push mower weighs half as much and is a thousand times easier to use without any kind of drive assist, and the stupid goddamned wheels never lock up like this one does. I wish I could go back and buy a much cheaper mower.

Of all the DIY videos I've watched and followed, this ranks towards the top - if not at the top - as it saved my daughter $160+ by returning the replacement she bought me from Target (note: CostCo has a much better, and cheaper, deal) for Father's Day 2024. At the risk of being presumptuous, I have a few refinements to offer: 1) when re-assembling, I suggest you start at the front (rounded) part as the studs on front align the clips on either side, then clip the left side in before doing the same on the right side as it just seems to come together easier 2) if you have them, use automotive trim tools to pry the exterior cover off to avoid as much as possible dinging it with a metal tool (Hobo Freight has a great kit for a few dollars) 3) my Supreme Plus TAS while descaling because I hit the "K" (brew) button when the machine told this dummy to "add water", which most likely tripped the thermal switch/sensor 4) if you find stray bits of broken plastic comingled in with the coffee grounds kicked loose by disassembling the machine, don't fret as like with auto interior parts, plastic doesn't like to be disturbed post-factory, but unlike with a car nothing is going to rattle while using your Keurig I'm not a design engineer, but I wish Keurig would've figured out a way to externally re-set the thermal switch/sensor without having to partially disassemble it. They may have thought of it, but could not place it somewhere externally accessible and still serve its safety function. Time for a cup...

I had a much newer HRX 217 version of this machine purchased in late 2020 that I had to go through a similar struggle with after less than three years of ownership. I didn't do as thorough of a job as you did, but that whole drive gear setup on mine was completely filled with dirt and corrosion even though I've been pretty diligent about keeping it clean after buying it brand new. I had to clean all parts in that hub, and wiped everything down with anticorrosion oil, and it worked like new. Next time it acts up I'm probably going to follow your lead though and do a full teardown. You'd think there would be a world of difference in the drive system after so many years but it looks almost identical on the current models. Nice to know Honda mower fundamentals never change! 😆 Good machine though, other than that issue I haven't encountered any other problems.

This a very nice video and much appreciate that it was put together. However, you should’ve probably noted that there was actually a recall on the drive shaft bushing. It was not the correct size from the factory. Everything mentioned in this video should be done, however the bushing should be replaced with the new, properly sized part as part of the process.

While under warranty I took this mower to my local Honda dealer and they could not repair it. I am guessing a TSB was not available at the time I first had the wheel lockup issue. Picked it up from the repair shop and I tore it down to find and fix the problem. It was registered with Honda and unfortunately, I never got a recall notice. Thanks for the comments!
@interconnect-
@interconnect- Ай бұрын
@@CarveTools Yeah, that makes sense. The first time I brought mine in there was not a TSB either. I continued to have issues after that, so I brought it in several more times over the course of a year or two. The 4th time I brought it in, there was a TSB about the bushing and they did the replacement. Even after that, I continued to have the same rear wheel lockup issue and brought it in a 5th time and they replaced the bushing yet again. Currently my wheels don't lock up, but it doesn't roll back as easily as it should. I think I definitely need to do what you did and take it apart and clean everything, despite the bushing being the correct one now. Thanks again for the video!
