Very well explained. I really needed a video like this one here and the way and time taken by you to explain the entire work to be done step by step makes me confident that I can do this job and as you said it if you can do other people can do it too. Thanks.

Thank you for this, sir. I've got a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I'm in the exact same situation as you. Guess I'll try to buy a new front end and bypass this whole problem. Thanks.

Excellent job, well explained. The person that do this has to have some mechanical skills before even start thinking to do it. This is not for everybody out there. thx I needed this.

Nice with it out a person can actually see the parts.Easy to understand great work.Picked up a 96 and the front shaft was off. There is some play in there and i was going to rebuild the shaft but now i see i will need to do the pinion, bearing, seal, and possibly more.But ya with the shaft off it can drive around 2wd.The missing exhaust is a problem but it sounds amazing.haha I like and subscribe have a great day...

Thanks, this was a great presentation, would have like to understand more in how what you did, did not work. But great video!

Decent presentation no pauses. Took you 6 hours and you say you're not a mechanic? Geez, give yourself a little credit, good job.

This is exactly what I’d like my mechanic to do with my 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s so loud right now. Even a used differential he found was $700. In good with having just rear wheel drive. I wonder how my labor would be to bypass?
@raycimbalnik51594 жыл бұрын
My 94 is in the shop right now for the front diff. 1200 dollar part and the shop owner isn't sure how much labor will be?? Also can't tell me the gear ratio so I can order the new one. Think I may just take front shift out and try that. Thanks for the video!

Hi Can you teach me how to fix some noises from front axle Jeep ZJ…How to shim R L bearings,, thanks a lot

Can you tell me how you would rate the vibration noise from your jeep after correcting the problem? I have some vibration at 50-70 mph that I suspect may mean I have to replace some bearings. I have been in there looking at the teeth, and don't notice anything that looks very bad. The ring gear is almost perfect, but one of the spider gears has some pitting. Not bad. I have no leaks. I just wonder if it's supposed to be super smooth or if you always have a level of vibration that is normal. How much is ok?

How did you take the front differential out and make it just 2 wheel drive?
@thebluetiger262 жыл бұрын
If you remove the ring gear and reassemble, bingo. two wheel drive, I did this to get through the summer
@lawrencejlormandjr63702 жыл бұрын
Actually, you just take the front drive shaft out and you now have 2wd.

Why does my front differential wine when I drive it? It has a deep wine

its not hard if you have the proper tools , the first time always takes longer to learn , i always have wood n 2 sizes large ,small sledge hammer , 3 size pry bars, 3 size 3in wide radius cheater bars cut from old pipes,, 1/2 socket wrench short handle, or have a impact wrench corded electric or air,,,also i use a cable wench or hand strap to pull out parts n i use other construction plumbing tools that make it easy to work on mechanic parts
