The story I’m telling myself is that if they offered QD2 with front and rear limited slip diffs on your jeep, it would be easier on some sections. You did very well, and you and your bride make an excellent team. I love watching your videos. Sending good vibes your way.

Hope you get your Quadralift fixed. I smashed my Jeep's front end about 2 mile's from my Cabin 3 years ago. Passenger front wheel well liner got slightly torn out (which I hadn't realized until too late), which allowed the front passenger tire to rub through an air suspension line on left turns. Jeep was down onto it's bump stops just as I pulled into my place. Had to flatbed it down to the Jeep dealer in Cadillac, MI, about 25 mile's away. It was an easy fix. We made sure to zip tie that air line further away from the engine compartment side of a replacement wheel well liner. My Quadralift has always been a little quirky, especially in extremely cold ("zero" degree F) weather.

Again a really fun to watch video. I hope you can get your air suspension working again. I've got an idea for a video: Make it about changing oil (when, which oil für 5.7l, 3.6l, 3.0l CRD), differencial, .... (Especially for the diesel (I drive myself) it's so hard to know which oil to use. In Germany I really don't get the right information. The manual recommends an oil that we can't buy (5W-40, MS-10902 and ACEA E9/E7 or A3/B4 - I can buy 5w-40, but no MS-10902. I can buy A3/B4 but C3 is usually recommended to diesel cars with particel filter). I guess you know many diesel GC driver which do the oil change themselves.

Great trails and great driving. Looks like a lot of fun. Air suspension is a great technology but as everything complex it can fail. From what I have read in the forums it usually becomes a problem when it is cold outside. If only the front is down, then the compressor is probably OK and you dont have a leak, so it some control system, sensors or valves? Or there is moisture in the system? Anyway As for people commenting that it is beyond Trailhawk's mission. I disagree. THIS IS TRAILHAWK'S MISSION ;-) When I went for 4x4 safety clinic some people commented that it a bit silly to take fairly new somewhat luxurious rig on trails and pinstripe the crap out of it on a trail. But this is why they were created. Not for driving over curbs in the mall parking lot. That is why I love this car. I can comfortably cruise on the highway, take it to the trail and come back. And it drives over curbs like a boss! Can't wait for the next video!

Hello, Brad! I have one question about you air suspension fail. Did you check the fuse? I've just bought new WK2 and talked with guy from dealer about quadralift issues on low temperatures (below freezing). He said that the most common reason of air suspension fail in theese conditions is the compressor overloading. When ice freezes on air springs, compressor tries to brake this ice and the fuse blows due overload. Or computer can detect overloading and just disable suspension lift (in this case it will work again after car restart, shutting down for 15 min or disconnecting battery). So you need only take a spare fuse and replace it on place. In most cases no refill required and you don't need to go to the dealer. I'm curious, how far it is from truth.
@ProdigalOverland3 жыл бұрын
We did check the fuses, They were ok. The Problem seemed to have worked itself out. I do think that every time it acts up. It has been below freezing.

Should I get a GC without the air suspension and have a lift put in that's bigger?
@ProdigalOverland3 жыл бұрын
You are going to be limited to about a 2.5 inch lift because of the stress higher lifts put on the CV joints. Also you can't get the Quadra Drive 2 system without the air lift.

With as much as you push the limits with the WK2, I'm surprised you aren't running a much more aggressive tire more off-road oriented. With some better tires, I think you'd climb up some of these rocks you just spin with the ATs.
