Jeep in surf part 2 updated

I just want to add that the first attempt to lift the jeep was not intended to pull jeep out just trying to get bumper out of sand so we could hook under bumper . I could not lift up on the tow hook as it had such a slight curve in it any up pull and it would have slid off . . I had no idea that the ornemental
tow hook on top of the front frame was not for towing . Just for looks . Got video loaded right this time . We had to wait for low water to recover the jeep as my big 4x4 wrecker lost a tie rod end next to the surf line . We were still 2 hours to high tide so we spent an hour dragging and winching muy International out of the surf line . We took the Heavy recovery Kenworth down in the morning at low water winched the Jeep out and then winched the wrecker down to the hard sand . I spent 4 hours yesterday getting front suspension back together and will repair hubs and blown hydraulic line today . Made for a long night

I found an entire sailboat metal detecting. Well, it was all disintegrated though, found 50lb brass rudder, huge stainless steel prop shaft, loads of brass and copper rivets and bolts. No lost treasure though. Just scrapped it. I think I got over $800 in scrap.

@Burr Anderson sorry wrong answer for repairs... Salt damage wiring harness complete replace... Totally rebuilt drive live to remove sand and water alone with new bearings u-joints etc.. oil is thicker than water and water will leak in taking dirt, mud, & sand with it that Jeep is scrap...

I remember driving my 79 Mustang Indy Pace 5.0 4 speed into a sandy area for pictures and it started spinning and started to dig into the sand. I stopped before it was about to get very stuck and aired down the tires some and what a difference it made,,,, the car just about walked out of there like nothing. It had a new set of 89 Mustang GT wheels and Goodyear 225-60-15 Gatorbacks on.

Technically, fresh water can be cleaned out of everything if you really work at it. Problem with salt water is that it just ruins everything electric/electronic and there is no way to clean it all out. But I agree, a flood is a flood, lol.

Nobody dug out the sides, or dug out the rear tires, or even dug out around the sides of the front tires. They're putting incredible stress on a lot of components of that Jeep.

Yep cost of towing and cost of new Jeep all that salt and sand it's scrap now if you see that one for sale don't even look at it it's a money pit... wiring harness salt damage ... Going to corrode down the road airbag can go off any time, drive live full of salt and sand every moving part needs to be rebuilt or replaced because of the sand & salt just junk.. actuall it would have worked if I had backed my truck up and lifted straight up . I was too far away and was pulling the tires into the sand at too steep an angle . We didn't show it but the sand was just starting to crack around the body when it broke . Chincy pot metal to hooks .

I used to work for Hertz and we had a customer that did this with a Hummer. He called us and said it broke down in the parking lot at the beach, said he left the windows open during a rain storm, that’s why it was a little “damp” inside. Little did he know the tow truck driver who pulled it out of the Pacific the day before sent us the video showing the renter pulling the tow cable through chest high surf to drag the car out of the incoming surf. We sued him for $60 grand, and believe it or not he paid!

ninja scout im guessing you don't live near soft sand beach or deal with equipment and clay mud.Its called suction.usually they sink pipes into the ground to pull them out and break suction.in mud I've seen explosives put into the mud to break the suction and remove excavators

No the tide is out notice the lack of water. The wrecker will be fine. The Jeep was buried due to wave action during high tide.Try standing still when the tide rolls in around your feet and see what happens.

Down on Surfside between Freeport TX and San Luis pass, I saw a Toyota playing tag with the surf on the beach. As the tide was coming back in he got stuck in the sand almost as bad as the Jeep in this video. He lost though to the tide. He only had about ten minutes before the gulf claimed his car. He had all kinds of fines for polluting the gulf on top of recovering his ride which was now no better than scrap.

I remember a Ford bronco with 34's tires on it. Same as on monster trucks. Buried like this in sand at Hatteras point. Biggest wrecker on beach could not pull it out. Had to get a front end loader to dig it out.
