Spot on install some say you have to drill all new holes. I only drilled the middle hole (bottom stud on top latch)to lower the hood some.

There is a huge gap in the fender if you don't drill the holes. You can see the out of line fender in the close up pics. Its easy to drill the holes and only takes a few minutes.

Yeah he does. If you use the drill method and drill the existing holes slightly larger it gives you room to adjust the latches and for the most part eliminates the gap issues.

the install created a bigger gap, clearly visible on the video....there is probably no way around it without drilling, to get it done right.

You have to drill the holes but it's an easy job. I have a video on my channel showing the proper install... way less production quality though. Lol

Also the jl hood latches prevent hood flutter on the old jks I see Mopar fixed that issue with the new jl

Also do 1 latch at a time, it helps visually to see/maintain proper hood gap ( which this now clearly has a large one )

Drill holes out, all 5 and they will latch hood down more line the factory latches.

You don’t have any adjustability if you don’t ream the stock holes out.

Yea I already did mine he needs to drill the holes in the hood and move up the top pieces up a little. That way they are snug and tight. They did a crappy job installing them.

Can you say gap! The hood isn't even alligned. What a crappy install video. That's why all the other installation videos on these say to drill the holes out with a 3/4 bit so the hood gap is less.

Yes most videos 3/8 but I didn't like that, I used a 5/16 round file and filed the 2 upper holes upwards about 3/8 of an inch making an oblong hole to raise the top of the latch, worked great. perfect gap line now. @@m4belisle511

I agree! That does not look good at all. I just got the Mopar ones and researching what I can do minimally to get the gaps correct before I attempt it.

Horrible install, the gap of the hood to body panel is huge. This is not snug at all, can install bottom the same, but need to DREMEL file the upper holes so that it can be adjusted higher, so that the gap will be tighter, and have no hood flutter.

What a waste of MONEY. I have had mine for 10 years and so what about the hood flutter! Like who really cares.

Mine was so bad it was hitting the safety catch in strong winds. That was the day I decided to make the switch. If the latch broke thr hood was flying up.

Hood flutter affects gas mileage alot so it does matter especially with gas prices the way they are.
