Can I pick your brains if you have crd knowledge please? Have a 2004 2.8 crd with cold(and even cool) starting issues….will reliably start in warm weather but even a cool autumn night means it will not start in the morning? Heater plugs changed ,tested and good…modules replaced as had error codes so now no errors on heating. When cool weather it will just turn over until battery dies and when I put battery jump pack on it spins super fast and then starts ok!? Battery is not that old and a quality red top so should be ok? Any ideas ?? 🙏🏻

Mine is picky about temperature as well. The biggest thing with these is cranking RPM. Sounds like your battery is not able to deliver enough amps to get it going. If the jumper pack makes it spin super fast as you put it, that in reality means it's turning over super slow without it. Slow speed with a Diesel gives much more time for blowby to reduce the pressure, and reduced pressure means less heat to cause Diesel autoignition. Look into finding an ultra capacitor to pair up with the battery if you're sure it has good capacity and is only weak in cranking amps. This will have the CRD maintain a nice cranking voltage and fire right up. Best of all your batteries will last WAY longer too. The other thing, perhaps first try, is not to crank right away. Put the key in and turn it so the glow plug light comes on, but don't crank after it goes out. Count to five seatbelt bings and then cycle the key off, and back on for another 5 bings. Then crank it. This will greatly help start these. With that and the increased cranking RPM it will start even if it's very cold!

Jeep is as design for self recovery vehicle , 🎉. What was the mpg for the towing? Video Water 💦 intrusion in to Jeep , pop the cowl and water 💦 proof the air box for the hvac fan / 📦?

Might be buying one up here in Canada (Rust free) and yes I have seen pictures, my plan is to be using it to pull my boat with it (2300-2500lbs) taking a 5000km trip across Ontario Canada this July, what should I expect for MPG? Driving no faster than 110km/h

Does everybody treat these super cool engines like they are a V8 7.3 or Duramax and just beat them to death? I have an 05 CRD and its great, just don't abuse them.

Thank you for the comment! We don't really beat on it. the towing capacity is 5000 lbs, so with the weight of the jeep and the dolly we are only slightly over. overseas the capacity is rated slightly higher at about 6200 Lbs so I think it is within capacity of the vehicle. Thanks for watching!
