The tools main use is to hold it while you're torquing the bolt, or to provide leverage for removal if all you have is hand tools. Not needed for removal if you have an impact.

I have read that once the check engine light is on the VCM is disabled. Wouldn't driving it just with the check engine light on solve the problem as well. Just curious because I'm trying to figure out if this is the cause of my cylinder 2 misfire. Wondering if just driving it with the check engine light And disabled VCM as a result will start to clean up the sticking cylinder rings.

Old video but maybe someone will still comment. 16 touring started throwing P0240 code. I couldn't figue it out so i took it to the dealership, they couldn't figure out anything either. Replaced all cats and o2 sensors ($6,000 in repairs) but P0420 kept coming back. I was then told it was the vcm defeater causing the code due to the coolant temp sensor being forced to report an incorrect temp. I removed the defeater and the P0420 code didnt come back, reconnected the defeater and the P0420 came back

That's all the vcm defeater does is forces and incorrect temp reading because the vcm can't engage unless the temp is above x° so why TF is it $100 if it's just a $0.03 resistor????

I am told the muzzled will void the warranty. If it is installed on a new vehicle could it be removed if warranty work was necessary without detection? Will the computer or anything else tell the tech that a muzzled was installed?

The class action says Pilots from 2009-2013. I am looking at 2015 Pilots, does this mean that they are less affected or not as big of an issue? 2015 is the last model of the 2nd generation, maybe they fine tuned more for that year, last year with a 5 speed transmission

Thank you and greetings from NZL. SO what I need to watch is a tear down of the front end of an VM RA428 [2007] with the single slotted pulley at the top cam shaft? Any links would be greatly appreciated. There seems to be a lot of the Liberty 2.8 CDR motors. I'm wondering if a Liberty CDR motor would easily fit into my JK 2.8 when it eventually fails? As difficult to get parts.

Hi, has anyone experienced battery drain after installing this? I've read on some forums that it might happen because it constantly draws power from the battery. I'm wondering if the other version, which doesn't connect to the battery, might be better? I'm planning to put one on my 2025 Ridgeline. Thanks!

Thanks! Did this and did not replace the fuel lines. I ended up with air incursion so had to go back in. Fortunately I cut an access hole and installed the lid from and older KJ, so the second time was not too hard.

I have a 05 crd , when the jeep is cold tranny shift perfectly but after 20 ish min of drive it feels like the tranny stay on neutral , parled the jeep n then next day was able to drive back home . What could it be ??;

I had the same leaky axle aeals, I added a 50/50 mix of stop leak and saw dust, it's been 5 years and still no leaks, you did all that work for nothing!! 😉

I am trying to remove the EGR in order to replace the last 3 glow plugs. However, after disconnect everything and all the bolts off. The EGR seems to be stucked on the manifold. Why is that? What should I do to get the EGR off?

My 2011 Odyssey has 74,000 miles. Suddenly it started running rough and power was greatly reduced. Idled too high, about 1300 rpm. It may have been stuck in eco mode. Disconnected both oil pressure transmitters, one on each head. Runs great but engine light is on. But at least it runs good.

Thanks for the hard work on the video. Nice tips and very helpful! One comment, DO NOT cut/trim the tab with wire cutters or dikes. The plastic is very brittle and will crack....like mine did. I managed to plastic weld it and put things back together even though my crack ran right across the mating surface of the o-ring. I'd suggest using a hot knife. Thanks again.

2016 Jeep Patriot had the same exact issue - two of the relays had pins that corroded off. I am thinking of making a video using metal roof flashing to reroute the water away from the relay box.
