Kevin, Don’t let this MAP Sensor distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three lifted roached out Liberty’s with junk 3.8s, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three window regulators without clips and a motec exhaust system.

@@LiteBriteKevin the window regulator cable is broken in them, this is a common design problem with them, pretty much all car manufacturers used this design from 1995 and up. I have replaced over several hundreds of them on all different cars.

Every Jeep Liberty owner I’ve known had window regulator problems. Thin plastic “chain” breaks. Electrical Gremlins are Jeeps! I hear ya Kevin. The older I get the less I enjoy doing my own work, and I’m not a mechanic by any means. I envy your knowledge and drive. Once you remove the Alternator you’ll be able to get to that MAP sensor, but later if it fails again - good fix you did! Yes, money helps! LiteBriteNationLibertyLiabilities!

The Susuki I have the rear driver window regulator failed. Instead of taping the window shut I used a block of wood to semi-permanently hold the window in the closed position. That was 21 years ago and still holding.

When you were wondering if the window tab was supposed to be bent or not I was wondering why you didn't just look at the other side. Alternatively, you bought 5 of those things, look at one of the others. Or Google it. Hahaha, fun video. I'm 62 and I still enjoy fixing stuff on cars. Can get frustrating, but when you fix it and the car runs great again it feels really nice.

We have a 2006 that we wheeled in Moab for a month. And it drove us from Vancouver BC and back pulling a trailer with 2 motorcycles. Oh and it has manual transmission and 250000km on the clock. If you take care of them they last. And the low gear is killer crawling fun. We were out there in a $8000 setup with $80000 rigs on trails like Fins and Things, Chicken corners where we were the only ones going around the last corner to the end. And other tight trails that full size rigs will not go. Just sayin’.

Unlikely you need to replace the window regulator. The plastic breaks where the cable attaches. You can drill a small hole in the plastic. Stick a bolt and cable through the hole and tighten it down. No money spent and easy fix. It will not break again. Also when they sit, the oil runs out of the lifters. When they stick, they fall out and lay in the valve cover. I had one that had 4 lifters laying in the valve covers.

The flickering is just low voltage after about 35 mins the alternator will have the voltage high enough to stop it And the break noise when you first started it could be the abs not having proper power

If those liberty are like the 01 grand cherohee I had, when the battery is so dead and doesn't keep power to the brain, they loose idle memory, as you jump them and battery comes to life you have to hold idle at about 2000 rpms so the brain can learn idle again

In the Diemler- Chrysler years a low battery would prevent them from idling once you get a good battery you should start the car and let it idle for 60 seconds in park then put it in gear and turn on the a/c blower on high and let idle again for 60 seconds. Also any of the window regulators that were broke got fixed under warrenty not a recall but they were so bad jeep took care of it. jeep paid .9 of an hour. 15 minute job, did tons of them.

AS the Liberties are not going to have rear seat passengers, I don't know why you were spending time fixing the rear regulators. The Front ones are more important by far. If you get on the trail, the windows come down to hear "suggestions"-though get walkie-talkies and seal the windows after getting the A/C units working and F all the window regulators. Hoping to see them on the trail next Summer.

For more content after you complete this run, challenge each of the cheap jeep drivers, to spend 5,000 to 10,000 each on vehicle up grades. Whatever you or they, can afford, just make sure it's the same price for every one. Winches, roll bars, factory replacements not upgrades don't count, such as ball joints, brake pads/rotors, u-joints, bushings. That sort of thing. This isn't my money and not sure how practical it is for y'all financially, but it is keeping with the idea of building affordable cheap jeeps for the average person. Everyone could record and post their build on their own channels and recoup some of the money spent by making the content, get new viewership and Then you could auction the vehicles some place, or have a raffle based on merch sells. Every 5 dollars gets you so many raffle tickets. Anyways good luck, as a liberty owner I think this is cool. I want to build up my liberty, because my dad gave it to me and he is passing.

I think people believe you don’t know how to work on vehicles is because they see the old videos when you guys were on the road living in hotels and couch surfing you didn’t have a shop and then things got going well and you hired a private mechanic fabricator, a.k.a. Chris because you had so many projects And there’s no time for wheeling which is what has made you guys famous if you were turning wrenches on all your own vehicles. I’ve watched you do trail repairs which are the hardest cause you have to take something broken and make it work at least for a little while so you definitely know what you’re doing.

I hate doing repairs on any of my vehicles. I don't mind doing upgrades/ modifications. Having a Masters in mechanical engineering, I especially hate lazy, or dumb designs, or cheaping out on build quality. I especially hate all the nannies on new vehicles, to help lazy, or incompetent drivers. Hence my 88 YJ has a Chevy 4.3 and 700R4. It's a "dumb" Jeep. All it has needed in the last 24 years, is a water pump, and headlight switch. The switch was a pain to replace, due to the roll cage.
