I absolutely love the fact that these vintage dragsters are still around and some is keeping them from just setting in the woods rusting away. He should start a museum and put them on display, just to show how far drag racing has come.

Being nearly 50, I can remember these style cars running at Beech Bend in the late 70’s, early 80’s. I’ve had a love for nostalgia dragsters since I was a kid. It Amazes me the styling and the fabrication. Thanks for sharing. Please share more of these type of videos.

Excellent trade my good man! You’re probably going to not even read this but I tried months ago to offer you a bunch of tri-five parts from my 56 210 Sport Coupe build but of course just like with all of you guys now. You don’t have the time. This retired disabled veteran guy has a total beg for your attention if at all possible? I’m down with sharing some pics of my car, tribute to my dad build, been in-work for 15 years, different when I was still on active duty, retirement aneurysm and seizure problems kept breaking my fall with my head so all good, just definitely slowed things up and of course the budget is a tight thing! Well, been huge fan for a long time, shows with motortrend was kind of a bummer but actually a great thing! I keep trying to stream your stuff to death, all liked ordering more merch in traditional military retirement fashion, 1st of the month lol! Well please brother, hit me up so I can ask you a question about a vehicle that I pray you still have? And maybe I have some parts for you?

I worked for a small body shop around 1986, and remember a 68-69 charger funny car body hanging in the rafters. Couldn’t make out what it said on it as most of the paint had been sanded off and repairs were done. You could see it was red and white at some point and purple at some point. Never got a name as to who owned other than it was a local guy here in Mesa Arizona. I went back by the shop after something like 10 years to BS with the owner, and noticed that body was still hanging in the rafters. Never found out what he did with it.

Hey David... look up the twin bears dragster, it had two motors one facing forward and one facing the opposite way they geard up another flywheel on the front of the other motor, the flywheels meshed togeather, anyways what they geared up was similar fir the motor mounts but they had it geared up to be able to move the engine forward or backwards depending on track conditions, you just loosened the clamp and move it to you desired location, they had different driveshafts to accommodate the different engine placement... I can't remember what year but it id like to say 1960 .. could be wrong id have to look through my old magazines to know for sure...one of the first big meets back in the day .. anyways I think Jack Christman piloted that monster. Anyways they blew a piston so the removed that piston and rod and maby the opposing rod and piston as well... don't quote me on that as it was along time ago I read it.. but anyways they did that and still won and set the track record... it was a very cool storie, and I would definitely jump behind the wheel of one of those wild and primitive rides ... my arms got goose bumps just thinking about wheeling one of those suckers.. I have been wanting to build one of those old diggers for 30 years... dreams eh for one don't have the Dollars, and thats something you do with a buddy or two and here in nova scotia no one i know is into them enough to want to build one..but man thats some pretty freekin cool shit you drug home, I wish I lived next door , haha lol id be wreching on those suckers with you for sure!! Anyways awesome stuff , wishing you all the best Dave , can't wait to see some more on those diggers

Bad trade. The only use I can see for the 2 frames is to use as a pattern. But both styles are way out of style and that’s for a reason, safety number 1 , durability usefulness and education. If you reproduced either I doubt they would even be allowed on a track. Now if you and a friend wanted to carefully race one another for the fun and experience to me would be the best case scenario. Good luck and please stay safe.
