I appreciate you uploading this. I am off to change my own on a 2006 Liberty. Both the before and after sensors cost $50 total, both Bosch and not universal, as far as I know. One point. I don't do anything with a wedding ring. Heard too many stories of shorting as a result.

Is there any special tricks to getting the connectors off? I cannot get the black connectors off, i tried heating it up with a hair dryer and nothing. i'm pressing down on the little clip type thing, and I can't get it to budge. I'm replacing Bank1 Sensor 2.

Engage Overdrive The part has lasted a couple years now. I think at the store it was more than a few dollar price difference for this one. But your right, spend some extra bucks for a direct fit is always the best idea. I wet a splice on a saturn 02 sensor and had to buy another one, would have been cheaper to get a direct fit in the first place. But the wires are wires, either they are connected or they are not. Thanks!

@AdamXtreme1 yeah, that part wasn't easy, i had to play with it a bit. but you gotta hold down that tab and also hold on both ends while pulling at least one side. It took me some time, hope ya get it!

At 22 seconds in the video "..bank 2 sensor 1.." is incorrect.....That is bank 1.Bank 1 one the Liberty 3.7 is the driver side...bank 2 is passenger.Look at the Link in your Diagrams reference....

That's why he said I'll add a link to the reference.

match up the wires....that'd be great if they were all different colors but it looks like you've got 2 white and 2 black wires to match up. What's to keep you from switching the two white wires around when you're not supposed to. Same with the two black wires.

Can someone help , I have a 2006 Jeep liberty and I have to replace Oxygen Sensor : bank 2 , sensor 2 . I figure its in the rear but is it on the Driver's Side or Passenger Side. Sorry , I am a newbie and I am trying to avoid paying $500 for the job. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance .
@Armoredlamb3 жыл бұрын
Sure, on this link you can find diagrams of where the sensors are located. It looks like 2/2 is the passenger rear: www.justanswer.com/jeep/310n9-location-o2-sensor-2004-jeep-liberty.html You got this! Other commenters mentioned that it's worth it to skip the soldering and get the direct connection, i'd agree.

do you know af any that don't cost a ton? i want to replace all 4 for mpg reasons since i have 111,xxx miles on mine and al 4 original o2 sensors. so with millions of this model and others from jeep and dodge that have the same part number these 02 sensors shouldn't cost an arm and leg like the ones at oreilly that were almost 100 bucks. they should be just as cheap as one for an 87 5th avenue.

@paul van Sorry for the delay and that you will likely not see this comment. But The wires are Black, Grey, White, White. If it's the same color it does not matter which order. Thanks!

Is it a pain in the butt If you got big hands , to change the upstream left bank1 0/2 sensor with the 3.7 V6 ? Thanks in advance, Frank
@gotglasses11 жыл бұрын
That replacement part is junk. You should not use the universals since you do not want to have to cut and splice any wires related to your emission control computer, which can cost you $thousands if you mess it up. The real part is only a couple of bucks more and will include a nice new plug.

PO153 is bank1, sensor1, heater circuit fault.....
@undertone888 жыл бұрын
I noticed you again. You said this on another Jeep Liberty 02 Sensor video. This statement is incorrect. P0153 is Bank 2 Sensor 1, Slow Response. Yes, you are correct on your previous comment- that Bank 2 is passenger side, and sensor 1 is the upstream. But a P0153 code is 100% a BANK 2, Sensor 1 slow response code. Do not change your driver side O2 if you have a P0153 error code. It is the PASSENGER SIDE.
@chocomo21858 жыл бұрын
Not so!!! Torque app shows P0153 to be "...Powertrain o2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 1)..." Which we changed out and it FIXED THE FAULT.....So I am 100% certain of this info...!!

Which Jeep? I have a Liberty 2003. Had a P0153. I bought a Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 Sensor, replaced the upstream sensor on the passenger side above the catalytic converter just last night. Drove it for 10 minutes, check engine light off. Then drove it another 37 miles to and from work today. No check engine light. If you're positive you replaced Bank 1 Sensor 1, then it had to be for a different year and/or model Jeep.

2002 Liberty Limited....3.7L...When I researched this at the time, I seem to remember some other comments where they had replaced the passenger side on the ''02 and it turned out to be wrong info..very definetly was driver side ahead of the Cat..Real Bitch to get at...Has been a year or so now and still no problem...

Bosch o2 sensors are junk in jeeps. If you were able to use them and it worked in your jeep Congrats! lol We tried two seperate bosch sensors before the dealer suggested NTK or Denso
@Armoredlamb10 жыл бұрын
It's still chugging along fine. Haven't used anything Denso but i usually use NTK plugs.
@rankinstudio13 жыл бұрын
No not use those cheap ass universal O2 sensors on it. You shouldn't have to splice anything. Get NTK sensors for the same price from NAPA, pre made and ready to go.
