Very helpful, I only wish you could've toned down the music so we could better understand what you were saying at certain parts of the video. Not the easiest job for me. Like you I unscrewed the oil filter. I could not get the red lock tab to slide out for me because the connector was clocked in an awkward position. I ended up just breaking the plastic end off the old sending unit which was not very hard to do. Once broken off, I could move the connector where I could get to the red tab and slide it out so I could remove the female harness connector from the broken off plastic part of the sending unit. My Craftsman deep 27 mm multi-pt socket started slipping on the new Standard sending unit when I was tightening it down. The Standard sending unit uses rounded off pts instead of sharp edges like the OE sending unit. Luckily it was tight enough not to leak. I imagine I will need a 6 pt socket to remove this Standard unit if it ever fails.

Sometimes you have to do what you have to do to keep things moving. But I would keep a check on it to make sure it doesn't Disconnect from the vibration of the engine.

You don't have to drain the oil. However, it is recommended to change the oil.
