Jeep Liberty on Hole in the Rock trail.! Proof we made it to the end.!

Taking my Jeep Liberty on the Hole in the Rock trail..
I did this trail with 5 other Liberty's in May, 2004...
We were probably the first to take the Liberty on this trail..
EVERY obstacle on this trail needs to be done in BOTH directions..
I drive the red Jeep and got some recordings from friends on the trip..
I had only a 2 1/4" lift, larger tires, skid plates, rock rails, and OPEN diffs..
We did the entire trail without stacking a rock, winching or strapping ANYONE.!!
I have had these videos on KZbin since 2006, but they were all separate videos.. I have put them together into one video with some extra pics.. Also pics of the Hole in the Rock itself towards the end of the video..

I agree 100%.. .. It was always underestimated and always overperformed.. Especially the ones built prior to April 2002 as those built after were "pre-lowered" from the factory by 3/4".. But this little Jeep took me everywhere I wanted to go,, I even strapped a Rubicon Jeep up a hill once.. The picture shows him pushing me uphill with a stiff strap.. lol.. ..Happy Trails.!!

@@deserthorizons my old one was 2002 I knew it was higher when stock than the 04 iv got now, but absolutely iv put many landrover and their owners straight in them, they really are great thanks for telling me that I knew my 02 was higher when standard..

@@experttrolltrollingdirty2062 In the UK we have not got much choice as we did not get many 3.7 petrol ones most are 2.8crd I have a 2007 one but wish I had the V6 petrol one not a big fan of diesels if you do not do many miles in them they are not good on fuel I get 22mpg my old 4ltr XJ would do that and also run on LPG much cheaper to buy.

@@weaton25 i see lol i had 4.0litre xj aswell and it must have had a fuel leaak or something cos it was terrible on fuel bit i ear other people saying they not so bad sp i think mine had issues lol and yeah i have the 2.5 diesel now n tbh it is really not good on fuel not like a 2 litre diesel in a normal car or summar it does still drink

kudos. Having been on this trail several times, I must say that I'm impressed. You had the sense to air down the tires and it looks like you have some mad skills. My vehicle of choice is modified UTVs. Much faster and less of a white knuckle experience.

I have a 2007 cherokee in Europe 2.8 crd auto with just a 2" leveler lift of the front it really bugs me the way people put them down when they are for the most part the same as the good old XJ that everyone loves apart from not having a solid axle on the front but does that even matter most of the time I say no that is not to say that I wish they kept it.

Cherokee/Liberty is a great off roading vehicle.. .. If it really upsets you when people put it down,, do what I did and SHOW them what it is capable of.. I used to have people say I photoshopped my Liberty doing things only because I would wheel alone and take pictures after I had climbed some difficult thing.. After a while you just shut them out or shut them down.. Have you seen the video I have of going up Moab Rim.? No naysayers after that.. .. Happy Trails.!!

I did that trail last week in a Jeep Wrangler. It was no picnic.

@@mesquitoful i first did it in a Suzuki Samurai,, twice,, then a 94 Wrangler,, twice,, and then the last time in the Liberty, 15 years ago.. None of them with lockers.. One of my favorite trails.. How did you do.? Many other vehicles go along.?

2 wranglers. My 2015 sport 2 door, no lockers. My brother’s 2017 Rubicon. Lifts and 35s on both. He had to use his lockers to get up that wall at the bottom of the Mesa. Otherwise it went great. We probably should have stopped and spotted each other way more often. Any jams we got into were caused by haste and carelessness. Epic trail
