A segment low is Xuv700 awd n a segment up will anyway be the fortuner market for suvs in India. For the pricing this will have a tough time in India. Recently I was travelling on my friend's Grand Cherokee SRT in Kolkata for sometime, honestly I am not a fan of stiff ride quality on our regular roads. Already Compass is not seeing good numbers compared to old one because of steep pricing. So this one for sure will have a tough time selling. As Rachit bhai said we dont need super power or that 4x4 regularly, so no matter how capable this one is over Xuv 700 awd still that is a better car to buy at its price.

See karan sehgal latest vlog. He brought xuv700 awd and now he is facing so many problems. Problems related to tech, suspension and more things. A lot of owners are facing suspension problem. So its better to buy jeep and other foreign brands, because they give u a peace of mind. Features are not everything!

I've checked everywhere, automobile forums, teambhp etc and was unable to find and xuv700 owner facing suspension problem. On the other hand Jeep is the worst when it comes to reliability. Jeep in the US doesn't sell well due to reliability issues

But I would like to point out that even the Compass had a lot issues and were recalled couple of times when it was initially launched you will find a lot videos on youtube too (but this happens with all the brand). I am not saying the Jeep is a bad product. I only mean to say is value for the money we pay. One thing I have explained in one of my videos, a lot people after buying the Thar started doing insane things on the car assuming it is unbreakable or it can go anywhere do anything, so in the process of testing its capabilities people do screw out their cars.

Thank you sir . I was so much looking forward to the review from Motor Octane as you guys are the best . This would definitely change the fortune for Jeep and be a success if priced well . I owned both the Fortuner and Endeavour and both used to rock like a boat . Also both have dated interiors and I was not happy. Presently I have a Land Rover disco sports. However not too happy with the after sales service. Jeep Compass is too small. I am eagerly waiting for the Jeep Meredian. I mostly drive in the hilly roads of Darjeeling and Sikkim . So I need to torque rather than BhP .

*A great detail review as always Rachit Bro!! Meridian looks absolutely killer from the outside given it's clean design language (barring extra chrome)! The interrior too gives a superb premium feel! With good drive quality and OffRoading capabilities it gives a good package overall! But it's major downside is the space management. Meridian mainly built as a 7-seater version of Compass but there we can't see it as a perfect seven seater!! Third row is meant only for kids or to extend boot size!! But TBH I don't see a Good Going for this car in Indian market!! The segment is already booked by Fortuner which gives much more comfort to Third Row passengers than this!! We've already seen the downfall of one of the greatest SUV of this budget, Endeavour...so I don't think the brand value of Jeep will bring much difference there!! Could've given some modern techs like ADAS to make it a little different and value product infront of Fortuner coz after Mahindra and MG given the feature at sub-30 lakh budget cars, ADAS has become a new expectation and one of most sort after feature these days!!! I'm pretty much sure Meridian gonna have tough time in Indian market!!*

Thank you so much, Rachit ..! was damn good to hear you, detailing it for us...but I feel that apart from the crampy 3rd row, the engine could also be a bit of a let down, for some..! The Engine is powerful, undoubtedly...but for Meridian's size and dimensions and for the competition it will go up against, I really think that some more power, would have done Nicely ! At least 190 or 200 HP.. and not to say its a small engine.. A 2 Lt Engine would give a lot more Bang for the Buck !
